AK Steel ( AKS), a producer of flat-rolled carbon, stainless and electrical steel products and other steel products, has been authorized by its board of directors to make a voluntary $50 million contribution to its pension trust. Together with the $84 million payment made in May and the $150 million voluntary contribution made in January 2005, AK Steel has contributed a total of nearly $300 million to their employee pension fund so far.
