The BSE Sensex closed Thursday at 10,767.97, down 151.67 points, as profit-takers booked gains following the prior session's advance. Laggards on the index were ICICI Bank ( IBN), which lost 4.34%, Satyam ( SAY), down 3.46%, and Dr. Reddy's ( RDY), off 3.21%. Gainers were HDFC, which inched up 1.23%, HLL, up 0.25%, and Gujarat Ambuja, higher by 0.24%. Videocon Industries rose 3.47% on the news that it's considering acquiring Daewoo"s consumer-electronics businesses. Elsewhere, Tata Steel dropped 2.94%. The company has been in the news recently over its plans to raise long-term funds.
