Live Nation ( LYV) agreed to acquire HOB Entertainment, the owner of House of Blues music clubs, for a total of $350 million in cash. The deal should close by the end of the year, Live Nation said Wednesday. HOB operates 10 venues in cities such as Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Chicago and Orlando, and eight amphitheaters, including sites in Atlanta, Toronto and Dallas. Los Angeles-based Live Nation owns, operates and has booking rights for more than 100 venues worldwide. The company produced more than 29,500 events last year. The company expects the transaction to add to its earnings and free cash flow per share within the first year. Shares of Live Nation were up 26 cents, or 1.2%, to $21.23.
