Avocent ( AVCT) completed the acquisition of Fremont, Calif.-based Cyclades for about $90 million in cash, plus the assumption of liabilities and payment of certain transaction costs.

The Huntsville, Ala.-based company has funded the purchase from its existing cash and short-term investments.

The company expects to issue its first quarter financial result on April 27 extended on Cyclades acquisition, and expects the first quarter's GAAP results to include a one-time charge for process research and development costs.

Cyclades had reported a revenue of about $60 million in the year 2005. "Our products are very complementary and we expect to leverage our respective product lines and relationships to provide our customers with a more integrated platform for managing their IT infrastructure in the future," the company said.

Avocent's stock dropped 12 cents Friday to $32.10.
