Chipmaker Lattice Semiconductor ( LSCC) rose 3% after agreeing to settle a lawsuit for $3.5 million.

The suit was filed in 2004 against the company and some of its current and former executives. The agreement doesn't contain any admission of fault or wrongdoing on the part of the company or any of the individual defendants in the litigation, Lattice said.

Lattice expects that the entire amount of the settlement will be paid by its insurer under the terms of its director and officer liability insurance policy, and that the payment won't affect its current or future financial results.

Lattice rose 19 cents to $6.13 Thursday.
