Antivirus company McAfee ( MFE) promoted its vice president of worldwide sales, Kevin Weiss, to president of the company, and assigned additional duties to its CFO on Monday. Weiss joined the company in 2002 and has been a part of McAfee's executive management team for three years. As president, Weiss will drive strategic direction, global marketing, sales and technical-support operations. "Kevin has an outstanding track record for executing on global sales and building the McAfee business, while quickly identifying and taking advantage of emerging industry trends," McAfee CEO and Chairman George Samenuk said in a statement. Weiss previously held senior management positions at Ariba ( ARBA), BindView Corporation ( BVEW) and BMC Software ( BMC). He also worked for IBM ( symbol) for 16 years. He replaces Gene Hodges
, who resigned in January. McAfee also announced that CFO Eric Brown will take on additional tasks as chief operating officer. Brown will be responsible for global finance, manufacturing and administrative operations for the company in the dual role. McAfee closed the regular session down 11 cents to $24.38.
