Albemarle ( ALB) and Honeywell's ( HON) UOP unit agreed to form an alliance for hydroprocessing catalysts and technologies.

The alliance, in which Albemarle's joint venture Nippon Ketjen will participate too, will offer a wide range of hydroprocessing technologies, catalysts and services to assist refiners in meeting the projected increased demand for refined products and ultra-low-sulfur fuels, Albemarle said in a press release.

It added that both the companies have complementary strengths with UOP being a hydroprocessing technology and catalyst supplier, and Albemarle, a supplier of refinery hydrotreating catalysts and technologies.
