Affiliated Computer Services ( ACS) is being informally investigated by the Securities and Exchange Commission for some of its stock-option grants, the company disclosed on Monday. The IT services company said in a form 8-K that it will respond to the commission's request for information and cooperate in the informal investigation. The certain stock-option grants were made by the company from October 1998 through March 2005. "The Company was advised in the Commission's notice that the Commission's request should not be construed as an indication by the Commission or its staff that any violations of law have occurred; and nor should the request be considered an adverse reflection upon any person, entity or security," the company said. The SEC notified ACS of the investigation on Friday, the company said. The news didn't have much effect on the stock, which was down 21 cents to $62.74 in recent trading.
