Dow Corning added three directors and said another board member is retiring.

The Midland, Mich., venture of Corning ( GLW) and Dow Chemical ( DOW) said its board now features four executives from each of its two shareholders.

The board elected Laurence D. McRae of Corning along with Geoffery E. Merszei and Gary R. Veurink of Dow.

"This is an exciting and challenging time for the company as we focus on innovation, sustainability and global expansion," said CEO Stephanie A. Burns. "We're looking forward to working closely with our newest board members and learning from their diverse experiences and knowledge."

Retiring from the board is Arnold A. Allemang, a senior adviser for Dow, who has served as a Dow Corning director for more than four years.
