TheStreet.com bas become aware of a spam email that fraudulently purports to have come from the address news@thestreet.com with the subject line "Investor Alert." The email contains potentially misleading financial information encouraging investment in a Chinese biotechnology company.

THIS EMAIL IS A HOAX.

TheStreet.com is notifying you of this fraud so that you may discard all information purporting to originate from news@thestreet.com.

Please be advised that TheStreet.com did not participate in any way in creating or disseminating this email, nor has TheStreet.com provided the unknown perpetrators with any personal information about its subscribers. TheStreet.com takes seriously its obligation to protect its subscribers and only disseminates information to third parties in accordance with its published privacy policy and applicable law.

To further protect its customers, TheStreet.com has undertaken a full investigation of this matter. To assist us in this regard, we would be grateful if you or your technology department could forward any SMTP address information regarding the above email to abuse@thestreet.com .

In the future, if you suspect that you have received a fraudulent email purporting to originate from TheStreet.com, please forward it to us at fraud@thestreet.com without changing or retyping the subject line.
