EDS Taps Sample for Risk Oversight

EDS ( EDS) tapped Mike Sample to run its enterprise risk management operation and named Rebecca Whitener and David Morrow his top deputies.

The Plano, Texas, information technology company said Sample, who had been serving as acting chief risk officer since March, will continue reporting directly to CEO Mike Jordan. He will oversee executive operations, corporate aviation, health and safety, corporate security and risk management.

"Mike's deep understanding of EDS' global business and his more than three decades of IT services experience are the right combination to further strengthen EDS' risk management operations," said Jordan. "I look forward to working closely with Mike and his new leadership team."

EDS also named Whitener chief risk officer and Morrow chief security and privacy officer. Morrow is a recognized expert in integrating security and business strategies, EDS said.

On Wednesday, EDS shares rose 6 cents to $22.58.
