Barnes Group ( B) closed its acquisition of Service Plus Distributors of Bristol, Pa., for $13.7 million in cash.

Barnes, which is based in Bristol, Conn., said Service Plus is a distributor of gas springs, dampers and hardware to equipment and vehicle manufacturers. Its products are used primarily for doors, hatches and lids in a wide variety of applications including truck cabs, construction equipment, emergency vehicles, motor homes, boats, trailers, tool boxes, conveyors, compressors and exercise equipment, Barnes said.

On Tuesday, Barnes shares rose 59 cents to $35.74.
