Scripps Splits 2 for 1

Newspaper publisher E.W. Scripps ( SSP) set a 2-for-1 stock split Thursday.

The split will be payable as a 100% stock dividend to holders of record Aug. 31. The Cincinnati-based company also declared a regular quarterly dividend of 20 cents on presplit shares, to shareholders of record the same day.

Scripps fell 3 cents Thursday to $102.80.
