NCR ( NCR) said second-quarter earnings will be roughly double Wall Street estimates thanks to strength in a data outsourcing unit and the company's automated teller division.

The Dayton, Ohio, company expects to earn 35 cents a share on revenue of $1.44 billion to $1.45 billion in the three months to June 30. Analysts surveyed by Thomson First Call were forecasting earnings of 18 cents a share on revenue of $1.40 billion.

"NCR's Teradata Data Warehousing and Financial Self Service businesses both generated second-quarter year-over-year revenue growth well ahead of expectation," the company said, adding that favorable currency translation added 3 percentage points to year-over-year sales growth.

The stock was recently up $4.53, or 9.6%, to $51.55.
