D.R. Horton ( DHI) raised earnings guidance for the current fiscal year, citing 30% year-over-year order growth in January and February.

The homebuilder now expects to earn $3.30 to $3.40 a share in the year ending in September. Analysts surveyed by Thomson One Analytics were forecasting $3.29 a share. The company expects to post revenue in the year of $10.2 billion to $10.4 billion; analysts had been predicting $10.04 billion.

The shares were recently trading for $35.04 on Instinet, up from their 4 p.m. EST Monday close of $34.80.

D.R. Horton also set a "revenue goal" of $12.0 billion in fiscal 2005 and $14.0 billion in fiscal 2006. Analysts had been forecasting $10.99 billion in fiscal 2005. Fiscal 2006 estimates weren't available.
