Shares of Aeropostale ( ARO) were lower in afternoon trading, the first session after the company said it filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission covering the sale of 6.1 million shares. Recently, shares of the apparel retailer were down $1.44, or 6%, at $21.58 in New York Stock Exchange trading. The company will receive no proceeds from the secondary offering. The New York-based company said all of the shares to be sold will be offered by Aeropostale stockholders. Bear Stearns is the book running manager for the transaction.
