RealNetworks ( RNWK) shot up in the premarket session after saying it was chosen by Vodafone ( VOD) to help provide audio and video services over cell phones.

RealNetworks shares were recently up 69 cents, or 11%, to $7.03 on the Instinet premarket session.

RealNetworks will provide video streaming technology that Vodafone will run though Siemens' global systems integrator to deliver video and audio content. Financial terms of the agreement weren't disclosed.

The services will be sold via Vodafone's "live!" service, which currently represent about 1 million of the company's 112 million customers.
