Yum! Brands ( YUM), the owner of restaurant chains KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell, said estimated U.S. same-store sales at company-owned locations were flat year-over-year for the period that ended June 14.

Estimated international-system sales increased 6% before foreign currency conversion, or 13% after being translated to dollars. Second-quarter estimated international-system sales increased 5% before currency conversion, or 12% after the translation.

U.S. total same-store sales at company restaurants increased 1% from the prior year for the second quarter.

U.S. same-store sales include only company restaurants that have been open one year or more. U.S. same-store sales for the Long John Silver's and A&W chains aren't included.

International-system sales include the total sales from nearly 12,000 company, franchise, license and joint-venture restaurants outside the U.S.

Shares of Yum! closed at $28.81 Wednesday on the New York Stock Exchange.
