In an effort to increase tax collection, the Income Tax Authority has recently asked the management of the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange for financial reports of publicly traded companies, Ma'ariv reports.

The authority wants to follow companies that achieved profitability in 2001, in order to ask them for advance tax payments. The authority also is expected to approach the 300 companies that made the biggest advance tax payments in 2001.
