Africa Israel could bid for phone company Bezeq

Tel Aviv traded Africa Israel Investments (TASE: AFIL1 ) has approached the Government Companies Authority about a possible bid for the control in state-owned phone company Bezeq, Ma'ariv reports.

Tomorrow is the last date for submitting proposals. The authority estimates there will be 10 bidders, among them Eurocom, Africa Israel, Polar Investments, Israel Corporation, international venture capital firm Apax Partners, Hutchison-Whampoa subsidiary PCCW, a group of foreign investors, and the Kaul-Rosenne group.
