Openwave in Messaging Pact With IBM

Openwave Systems ( OPWV) announced an agreement with IBM ( IBM) covering the marketing and deployment of messaging and mobile data solutions for communications purposes.

The IP-based communications software company will tailor its messaging suite software to run on IBM's AIX operating system and p-Series eServers, while IBM will provide consulting and professional services.

Shares of Openwave were trading up 8.3% to $6 in Instinet premarket action on news of the agreement.
