Luminex ( LMNX) posted a fourth-quarter loss of $3.7 million, or 13 cents a share, beating the consensus analyst estimate of a loss of 15 cents a share, according to Thomson Financial/First Call.

For the full fiscal year, the company lost $15.7 million, or 55 cents a share, compared with a loss of $12.5 million, or 52 cents a share, last year.

Revenue for the quarter was $6.2 million, a 77% increase over the $35 million from the year ago quarter.

Shares of Luminex closed at $17.18 Thursday on the Nasdaq.
