President Trump is planning a series of activities looking to highlight his accomplishments and also put fresh pressure on congressional Democrats to pay for a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border, even with the risk of a government shutdown, the Associated Press reports.
"The wall is a very important tool in stopping drugs from pouring into our country and poisoning our youth (and many others)," Trump tweeted on Monday.
House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi of California called the wall "immoral" and "expensive," AP noted. Pelosi also said that Democrats and Republicans along the border do not support the wall.
