A Georgia man was arrested Wednesday for plotting to attack the White House and other federal buildings.

Hasher Taheb, 21, of Cumming, Ga., was charged with attempting to damage federal buildings "by means of an explosive," according to a statement by Byung J. "BJay" Pak, U.S. Attorney for the northern district of Georgia.

Taheb allegedly planned to attack the White House and other "targets of opportunity in the Washington D.C. area," according to the statement.

The Joint Terrorist Task Force launched the year-long investigation of Taheb after receiving a tip from the local community.

According to Pak's statement, there was never a threat against any targets in Georgia, including the upcoming SuperBowl, slated for Feb. 3 in Atlanta.
