Donald Trump has decided to skip this seventh GOP debate, hosted by Fox News and Google, deciding instead to headline an event to benefit veterans. So, in his forceful absence, who will win?
Ted Cruz, who has made a good showing in most of the debates and has the strongest support among GOP voters nationally and in Iowa after Trump, is a good bet. Chris Christie has also been strong on stage and will likely welcome the absence of another big East Coast personality on stage. Jeb Bush, who Trump has relentlessly attacked in every debate, won't miss Trump, and neither will Marco Rubio, who has been thought of as a promising challenger but hasn't yet been able to muster much support.
