
Healthcare Stocks Mixed Following Senate's Vote to Strike Down 'Skinny' Healthcare Repeal
Healthcare stocks were mixed in premarket trading Friday following the Senate's decision to strike down a proposed "skinny repeal" of Obamacare.
UnitedHealth Group (UNH) - Get UnitedHealth Group Incorporated Report stock rose 0.30% while Aetna Inc (AET) dropped 0.06% and Humana Inc (HUM) - Get Humana Inc. Report fell 0.04%. Cigna Corp (CI) - Get Cigna Corporation Report and Anthem Inc (ANTM) - Get Anthem, Inc. Report have not reported premarket stock movement.
The Senate voted early Friday morning against the Skinny Repeal of Obamacare, with Republican Senators Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Susan Collins of Maine and John McCain of Arizona voting no. The legislation was struck down with a 49-51 vote.

The bill would have repealed Obamacare's individual mandate to purchase insurance and employer mandate to provide insurance, defunded Planned Parenthood for one year, repealed the medical device tax and allowed states more flexibility in regulations.
