The position: Program and training officer for the Peace Corps

Location: Various locations worldwide

Job duties: Will participate in, coordinate and/or manage Peace Corps volunteer-related programs and projects, including training and security programs. Will help develop and implement volunteer training programs. Provides advice and guidance about volunteer policies and programs. Must be able to develop and maintain relationships with host country government officials, local authorities and other personnel. Job requires performing administrative and human resources functions. Will also be responsible for ensuring the office abides by all equal employment opportunity regulations and policies. Job also involves providing input and analysis related to budgetary issues.

The company: The Peace Corps is an independent U.S. government agency promoting world peace, friendship and cooperation through the work of its volunteers. More than 195,000 people have served as Peace Corps volunteers since 1961.

Requirements: Requires work experience that involved managing an international development program or business. Should have experience managing and mentoring staff and volunteers. Must be a U.S. citizen. People who have worked in certain intelligence-related positions cannot apply for employment with the Peace Corps. Some positions require fluency in a foreign language. They especially need applicants who are fluent in French, Spanish or Portuguese.

Interesting info: Salary range is from $57,678 to $129,000. Exact salary depends upon candidate's qualifications. Positions are based at overseas locations.
