The position: Development and membership coordinator for Brooklyn Historical Society

Location: Brooklyn, New York

Job duties: Process all annual, fund, event and membership donations. Generate acknowledgement letters, mailing lists and reports for development, finance and program departments. Manage Raiser's Edge database and online Patron Mail system. Oversee development department volunteers as well as respond to member and donor inquiries and facilitate renewals. Work with event consultants to track RSVPs. Work with outside vendors to ensure all production deadlines and quality standards are met. 

The company:The Brooklyn Historical Society is an urban history center comprised of a museum, scholarly research library and educational center. The organization is dedicated to preserving and encouraging the study of Brooklyn's 400 year history.

Requirements: Candidate must be a college graduate with at least two years of nonprofit development experience, preferably in a museum, library or other cultural/educational institution. This job requires experience using the Raiser's Edge database or comprehensive knowledge of mail report functions. You should have one to two years of development or membership experience. The job also requires meticulous attention to detail, strong writing and proofreading skills and excellent organizational skills. Must be able to prioritize multiple assignments and handle complex tasks in a fast-paced environment.
