Golf-Course Homes Fetch Up to $68 Million

As the U.S. Open in Pebble Beach comes to a close, here's a list of homes near links across the U.S.

BOSTON (TheStreet) -- Golf and expensive homes go together, if only because the sport is preferred by the wealthy.

Even as home prices, measured by the Case-Shiller index, fell in the first quarter and applications for new mortgatges have been falling in recent weeks, there are luxury homes located next to or on U.S. golf courses that cost as much as $68 million.

Top Ten Real Estate Deals

compiled a list of some of them, as the 2010 U.S. Open in Pebble Beach, won by Graeme McDowell, comes to a close.

The showcase features a Bridgehampton, N.Y., home with more than 20,000 square feet of living space, a mansion in Texas with a two-story "SoHo warehouse" dance floor and a home near the Pebble Beach, Calif., golf course, where the pros are playing.
