Valentine's Day can be a time of stress as we scramble to think of the ideal gift for the perfect way of telling the one we love that he or she is the best thing that has ever happened to us.

It's easy to be clichéd with flowers and chocolates. And, certainly, there's nothing wrong with candy and spa treatments if those are things your partner likes. The key is finding a personal connection with your sweetheart.

From Monday through Friday this week, we will offer some "experiential" gift ideas that might help you turn a normal Valentine's into something more lasting and memorable. (Monday's

The chocolate-spa treatment:

Heart-shaped box of chocolates and spa day-trips are among the most clichéd of traditional Valentine's Day offerings. Of course, they're so clichéd because they're so darn good. This year, extend your thinking outside of the proverbial box, and combine the two in one amazing chocolate-spa treatment.

It's "Chocolate-Covered February" in Hershey, Pennsylvania, which makes perfect sense, since, well, it's pretty much chocolate-covered all the time in that small town. Hershey knows how to celebrate Valentine's Day, with specials on couples' massages and pedicures being offered at the The Spa at the

Hotel Hershey

. It's the chocolate-spa treatments that offer a reason to go there in February.

Here's some craziness you can plunge into:

A whipped cocoa bath in foaming chocolate milk, and a chocolate bean polish, which features the gentle exfoliation of cocoa bean husks, walnut shells and cocoa body moisturizer. Crazy, right?

A chocolate-fondue wrap, in which warmed moor mud and essence of revitalizing cocoa is rubbed into the skin, and a luxurious body brushing is followed by an enveloping fondue application. You'll be wrapped in a soft, warm blanket and rinsed in a warm Vichy Shower.

A simple cocoa massage, a classic Swedish massage with Hershey's chocolate-scented massage oil.

The current special at Hershey's is the Chocolate Spa Sampler Package, which includes a whipped cocoa bath, or chocolate hydrotherapy for men, and a choice of chocolate bean polish or chocolate sugar scrub, a 50-minute cocoa massage and lunch in The Oasis dining room. All for $196 a person.

The

Horseshoe Bay Resort

, in the Golden Triangle of Texas, also offers chocolate-spa treatments on Valentine's Day weekend, and includes a chocolate-chip scrub and a caramel-ribbon glaze.
