NEW YORK (MainStreet) – Remember a couple days ago, when Best Buy offered a free $75 gift card when you purchaser the 250 GB Xbox 360 console? Today Amazon is matching that deal, offering a $75 credit to its own site when you buy the Xbox console. Amazon’s deal is in many ways superior: Unlike Best Buy, it will ship you the console for free, and only residents of a few states actually have to pay sales tax on purchases from Amazon. And of course, an Amazon credit allows you to purchase a much larger range of products than you can at Best Buy, which is mostly limited to electronics items. Please note that the credit can’t be used on Kindle books, MP3s, video rentals and downloads. Also note that this deal is good for today only, and while it doesn’t specify what time the deal expires, it does say that it’s only available while supplies last.

Fandango continues to use various daily deal sites to offer discounted movie tickets. Today it’s Screamin Daily Deals, offering a single movie ticket for $6. It’s only good for movie tickets that cost $12 or less; if the ticket costs more, you’ll have to pay the difference. And it can’t be used at all for 3-D or IMAX movies. You’ll have to purchase the deal by midnight EDT, and once you have the promo code you have to use it by Aug. 27, 2012.

Target’s daily deal is a 10-piece non-stick cookware set for $49.99, discounted from $78.99. The set includes five pots and pants, four utensils and a strainer lid. The deal is only available online, and expires at 4 a.m. EDT Thursday.
