Apple revolutionized the portable computer, catapulted to the forefront of the smartphone market and has managed to overtake Microsoft as the most valuable technology company in the world, but there’s one thing this company is struggling to do: figuring out how to paint things white.

Apple (Stock Quote: AAPL) released a statement earlier today announcing that customers will have to wait until mid-July to buy the new iPhone 4 in white. Why? Because for some reason, they are too difficult to make. “White models of Apple’s new iPhone 4 have proven more challenging to manufacture than expected, and as a result they will not be available until the second half of July. The availability of the more popular iPhone 4 black models is not affected,” the company said.

This announcement comes at the very last minute. The new iPhone 4 has already begun to ship and will be hitting stores tomorrow.
