Facebook founder Mark Zuckerburg
Zuckerberg, 26, is worth an estimated $6.9 billion. This year he was ranked No. 35 on Forbes 400 list of richest Americans.
An official announcement regarding the donation is expected on Friday, when Zuckerberg is scheduled to appear as a guest on
The Oprah Winfrey Show
. Newark Mayor Cory Booker and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie are also expected to appear on the show to discuss the contribution.
