In an atmosphere where earnings per share just doesn't cut it, you have to anticipate what analysts are going to do by looking at the calendar.

By "calendar," what I mean is the upcoming events, all of which are now calling the shots on Wall Street.

Take last week's suggestions to buy

Internet Capital Group

(ICGE)

here in this column. I

wrote that we were buying stock in ICGE because of an upcoming ICGE day.

We figured some analyst would take the bait and push it and the recommendation would get traction because of the calendar effect.

Sure enough

Robbie Stephens

pushes it this morning, and Maria Bartiromo picks it up on

CNBC

.

And that's all she wrote!

Under no circumstances does the information in this column represent a recommendation to buy or sell stocks.
