As was the case with the broader market, TheStreet.com 21 tumbled Wednesday, losing 30.17 points, or 2.7%, to close at 1089.01.

The

Dow Jones Industrial Average

lost 150.53 points, or 1.6%, to 9425.51, while the

Nasdaq

fell 58.02 points, or 3.1%, to 1843.70.

Nineteen of the 21 individual index components lost ground.

Solectron

(SLR)

led the decliners, shedding 30 cents, or 4.6%, to $6.22. The company reports earnings Thursday, and

said earlier this month that it expects to report a loss, before items.

Best Buy

(BBY) - Get Best Buy Co., Inc. Report

lost $2.21, or 4.4%, to close at $48.50.

Kohl's

(KSS) - Get Kohl's Corporation Report

dropped $2.18, or 4%, to $53.20.

Cisco

(CSCO) - Get Cisco Systems, Inc. Report

was down 83 cents, or 4%, to $20.32, a day after the tech giant

expanded its stock buyback program by $7 billion.

Among the winners,

Level 3

(LVLT)

jumped 52 cents, or 11%, to $5.31. Needham initiated coverage of the communications company with a buy rating.

Devon Energy

(DVN) - Get Devon Energy Corporation Report

gained 41 cents, or 0.8%, at $49.14.

The TSC 21 is now up 89.01 points, or 8.9%, from its start on July 3 at 1000. But the index is down 46.82 points, or 4.1%, from its Sept. 18 record high of 1135.83.
