TheStreet.com 21 index kept its momentum on a rocky Tuesday in the market.
The index hit a new record of 1053.31, up 6.71 points, or 0.6%, from Monday's close. The broader markets rose as well, shaking off news of deadly terrorist attacks in Baghdad and Jerusalem. The
Dow Jones Industrial Average
closed up 16.45 points, or 0.2%, at 9428.90, and the
rose 21.62 points, or 1.2%, to land at 1761.11.
( SLR) rose 51 cents, or 9.9%, to close at $5.67, while
rose 39 cents, or 2.8%, to $14.21.
gained 24 cents, or 2.7%, to $8.99, while
closed at $32.03, up 74 cents, or 2.4%.
, the staffing company, rose on hopes of a labor resurgence. It reached $39.40, up 91 cents, or 2.4%.
Among the decliners,
( SSCC), the container board and box maker, lost 21 cents, or 1.3%, to $15.60.
Level 3 Communications
( EOP) all posted less-than-1% losses.
Overall, the index is 53.31 points, or 5.3%, above its start at 1000 on July 3.
