TheStreet.com 21 ended mildly higher Monday, largely reflecting gains in the broader markets.

The TSC 21 ended up 10 points, or 1%, at 1077.02. The

Dow Jones Industrial Average

closed up 56 points, or 0.6%, at 9778, while the

Nasdaq

rose 13 points, or 0.7%, to 1925. The

S&P 500

gained 5 points, or 0.5%, to 1045.

Twelve individual components finished the day higher.

gained 95 cents, or 2.3%, to $43.10.

Cisco

added 44 cents, or 2.1%, to end at $21.08.

Last Friday, the index -- created to act as a harbinger of an economic upturn -- finished down 18 points, or 1.6%, at 1067.08 for the week. It reached a high of 1095.31 on Tuesday, when 15 of the 21 components ended the session up, and finished at its low for the week on Friday. Meanwhile, the Dow was up 0.5% at the week's end, while the Nasdaq and S&P both closed relatively flat at 1915 and 1038, respectively.
