TSC 21 Continues Winning Streak - TheStreet

TheStreet.com 21 continued the upward climb it began last Tuesday, ending Monday's session modestly higher.

The index finished up 3.7 points, or 0.3%, at 1105.23. Both the

Dow Jones Industrial Average

and the

Nasdaq

finished the session moderately higher as well. The Dow gained 23 points, or 0.2%, to 9595, while the Nasdaq added 13 points, or 0.7%, to 1893.

Leading the individual TSC 21 advancers was

, which gained 37 cents, or 3.8%, to end at $10.22. The online brokerage was followed by

Continental

(CAL) - Get Report

, which added 51 cents, or 2.7%, to end at $19.27. Also,

Belo

(BLC)

gained 61 cents, or 2.5%, finishing at $24.76, and

Level 3

(LVLT)

rose 13 cents, or 2.5%, to $5.33.

In all, only two of the index's components closed the day down:

Manpower

and

General Electric

(GE) - Get Report

. Manpower shed 50 cents, or 1.2%, to close at $39.73, while GE dropped 3 cents, or 0.1%, to $30.79.

On Friday, the index had closed at 1101.54, up 16 points, or 1.5%, from Thursday's close. For the week, the TSC 21 had finished up 41 points, or 3.8%.

Overall, the TSC 21 is up 105.23 points, or 10.5%, from its start at 1000. The index was created as an indicator of an economic turnaround and began on July 3.
