Jim Cramer --VF Corp. Is a Quality Company That Delivers
TheStreet's Jim Cramer, co-manager of the Action Alerts PLUS portfolio, says too many investors are thinking only in the short term.
That's why they are making a minimal fuss over Cramer favorite VF Corp. (VFC) - Get Report , which beat on earnings and revenue expectations Friday. Its stock continues to rise despite the current market decline, he said.
"They really delivered," said Cramer during CNBC's "Stop Trading" segment. Shares are up by less than 1% Tuesday, but Cramer said if the S&P 500 ETF's (SPY) - Get Report wasn't doing so badly VF stock would be doing even better. The stock is up 4.5% over the past three trading sessions.
Cramer pointed out the company's North Face brand is doing well but other retailers are also doing well, particularly Columbia Sportswear (COLM) - Get Report and PVH Corp. (PVH) - Get Report , which reported pretty good results.
But oil prices have been down for the past several days, causing a decline in the overall market, and that seems to be what's weighing on apparel stocks, Cramer lamented. He said investors should focus instead on VF, which is "having a much better quarter" than previously thought.
At the time of publication, Cramer's Action Alerts PLUS had no position in companies mentioned.
