Yahoomc:

Welcome, Jim Cramer!

Creme_Delacramer:

Wow--what a day--big turn, or ??? Let's find out now!!! TOGETHER!!

luv_that_tsc asks:

JJC, courageous article over the weekend on current sta of the web! What's your longterm take on E-tailers like ETYS,AMZN,EBAY?

Creme_Delacramer:

EBAY has a proprietary product with classifieds, and amazon has a new mall that might work and ETOYS has a bad competitor in Toysrus, so all three have reasons to be bought.

SidelinerP asks:

What does JC think of Death Care stocks in general?

Creme_Delacramer:

These are disasters. I don't know if any of them are worth owning. But I defer to Herb Greenberg, who nailed the coffin shut on these stocks months ago on our site--great work Herb.

tjschill asks:

Abby Cohen is calling this a bottom, you agree?

Creme_Delacramer:

She calls everything the bottom. I would prefer not to use her as a bottom caller.

lufml72 asks:

What 's your best pick : Motorola , Nokia or Ericcsson ??

Creme_Delacramer:

I think Nokia is the best of those three and I am long it.

tjschill asks:

The Red Hots have held up nicely in this downdraft, when does the griddle get too hot for these highflyers?

Creme_Delacramer:

These stocks live at high temperatures. I don't know; they seem to be able to exist very close to the sun without problems.

Coach_Four asks:

What is wrong with Dell? Everyone told me it was the stock to have and it has not been so far. I have owned it since March.

Creme_Delacramer:

Wewill soon find out. They just called a conference call for 5:30--OOOOOHHHHH!!!!

HV27 asks:

Thoughts on Apple Computer?

Creme_Delacramer:

Missed it and then I saw it got hit and I bought a little but then I flipped it out

CABob39 asks:

Are you still down on bank stocks? And any specific thoughts on Bank of America?

Creme_Delacramer:

I was on their conference call. They did a good job. I Still don't want to be with the banks though, and I would rather be in bonds than banks.

lufml72 asks:

What 's your bet on AOL before wednesday's earnings???

Creme_Delacramer:

Look, I am very long AOL and I am not doing it for the quarter; I have owned this stock for a long time and I intend to do so, along with Yahoo, for some time.

Icover asks:

Jim, it is very hard for me to believe despite all that is occurring around us to remain bullish? There has been mounting evidence of this downturn coming. Did you short any of this market?

Creme_Delacramer:

No, as I have said repeatedly, I have cash but I see opportunity everywhere. I sure wish I were long Clarify which just got a big bid. My philosophy is to be an opportunist not a bull or a bear.

GHuhn88397 asks:

Hi jjc!!! My work shows the major averages broke down Friday and today, whats nexk Dow 9k or 11k?

Creme_Delacramer:

Hey George--better weather in Venice than here!! I think we won't get that low. I think that we will hold not far from here but that different stocks will rally up than before--drugs and foods--because of y2k.

Anything_that_goes_up asks:

Jim -- what is up with Tiger Fund? Are they the kiss of death on any stock they own?

Creme_Delacramer:

They worry me. But I am not giving up on Julian Robertson. My take is that it is a factor. I don't want to be big in his stocks in case he has redemptions but I sure wouldn't short them, that is a bet against one of the best managers who has ever lived.

Shepherd71 asks:

Hey Jim, Any thoughts on Raytheon? Also....any opinion on Fashion Mall (FASH)?

Creme_Delacramer:

Yeah. Here are my thoughts: avoid both of them.

lufml72 asks:

30-year yield son Treasuries on December 31st - any bet ????

Creme_Delacramer:

I would think they finish right here. I like Bellatlantic (which I am long) more but if I like BEL I should like BLS.

geekwannabe99 asks:

Cramer, what market cap will Palm Computing deserve after its IPO?

Creme_Delacramer:

I am long 3 COM, and I think Palm should be a big hit, but I don't hazard to guess the market cap.

criticalcollaborator asks:

What tech group do you think is going to lead the market before the year ends?

Creme_Delacramer:

I still think that the semi/semi equipment and telco techs will rival each other.

sctcom asks:

What gives the all clear for tech? Some big numbers out over the next few days: IBM, MSFT, EMC, TXN, etc

Creme_Delacramer:

You got it--exactly, i could not have said it better

GHuhn88397 asks:

jjc, given the bounce at the close, will we ramp with a good CPI number?

Creme_Delacramer:

YES definitely which is why the short covering rally was so powerful today. The bears got scared and covered.

yarnis asks:

Is intel dead money?

Creme_Delacramer:

No. I bought some today so I sure hope not.

FastActinTinactin asks:

Any thoughts on athm?

Creme_Delacramer:

I am not there for those guys. I don't like the structure and I think you're too tied to ATT.

informer100 asks:

What are the possible side effects of extending trading hours?

Creme_Delacramer:

My homelife will go from tough to non-existent.

kook39 asks:

What do you think will happen to family golf centers (fgci)

Creme_Delacramer:

I think it will vanish.

HV27 asks:

Any chance at all at seeing your smiling visage on CNBC one am soon?

Creme_Delacramer:

I sure hope so but it is up to Bruno Cohen, he is the guy who called me on the day TSC ipo'd and told me that i might be history. Timing is everything.

Creme_Delacramer:

I want to emphasize this is not about Mark, Joe and David whom I love and miss very much. Those guys are the greatest, i mean it, they are the greatest. When I took the Fox gig I very specifically said I don't want to give up squawk, but they booted me anyway, which is pretty amazing because I gave up Good Morning America for CNBC!!

Starmed asks:

Like to know your thoughts on PDYN.

Creme_Delacramer:

I don't know those guys well enough to venture an opinion. Sorry.

superstein61 asks:

Yes, last week I attended a chat with The Street.com's so called IPO expert, ben Holmes. Mr Holmes refused to answer my questions as to whether he ever compared his performance in predicting IPO performance against other so called experts. I also challenged him to a contest against myself in predicting IPO performance some week. Is this the kind of wimpy journalists you employ at The Street.com?

Creme_Delacramer:

I don't want to prejudge Ben based on this. I am a huge believer in accountability for certain but while you are knocking him I see the Journal relies on him for information about IPOs- and sometimes I have to tell you if he is good enough for them he is good enough for me!!

Coach_Four asks:

What do you think about Healthsouth. Is it time to buy at the weak price?

Creme_Delacramer:

I don't care for that stock, but I am conscious that there is a lot of insider buying.

SidelinerP asks:

Will Service Corp (SRV) ever return to previous highs?

Creme_Delacramer:

No.

lufml72 asks:

Of all your investments since April 99 , does it also seem to you that to make money was a hard thing in this market ???

Creme_Delacramer:

No, no harder than any other. I kind of like this market actually.

beech1997 asks:

Jim, I am a HUGH fan!!! Your thoughts on YHOO and AOL?

Creme_Delacramer:

Beechman, these are two of my faves and I am long both and want to be longer when this selloff is over which is why I buy them when they get hit.

Maborshi asks:

What do you think about GT's future? Short term and long term. Thanks

Creme_Delacramer:

I think this is a quintessentially boring stock that I don't want to own FastActinTinactin asks: any thoughts on sunw?

Creme_Delacramer:

Tinactin man--athlete's foot got you?? I am long SUN and think it goes to $100.

oogle2 asks:

What's your opinion on Veritas? both short term & long.

Creme_Delacramer:

Surprised the stock got hit, I have to do more work on it.

andyv43 asks:

Do you own dell? How long til cpq up and dies?

Creme_Delacramer:

I do not own Dell. I don't care for Compaq., I don't like the box makers.

yarnis asks:

TELCO TECH TOOK A BEATING TODAY. IS THE CORRECTION BUYABLE?

Creme_Delacramer:

I think that cisco is buyable. There is a very negative series about LU on our site which kept me from buying that stock today.

Anything_that_goes_up asks:

Jim -- Art Hogan of Jeffries said today no bottom until a washout day of 1 billion+ on NYSE? Agree??

Creme_Delacramer:

Don't know Art, but it would be good to have that kind of a washout. I don't like hard and fast rules though because you might miss something.

Maborshi asks:

How do you feel about MTC? They have a blockbuster in Celebrex, will it be enough to help with their debt load?

Creme_Delacramer:

I think these guys are very poorly run and I would rather be in Pfizer. Which I am long and think is a better bet.

coloneljulius asks:

JJC: You've taught me a lot, thanks. At what level would you start buying Intel again?

Creme_Delacramer:

I am long it here and bought more. I am a huge believer in the P3 cycle.

mmarteen asks:

Do you still like MBK long even with the mergers, making it not the biggest bank anymore?

Creme_Delacramer:

Definitely and I would tell you that that stock has held up better than any stock I own during this selloff.

lufml72 asks:

What's your take on MSFT 's verdict in the Antitrust case???

Creme_Delacramer:

I don't think it will matter. I think that the Justice department wont kill the stock.

Oneslip1 asks:

Would you suggest taking a capitol loss on on-line brokerage stocks or keep long?

Creme_Delacramer:

I think this group is very very depressed and I would not bolt here.

Shepherd71 asks:

What to you think of B2B stocks like VerticalNet?

Creme_Delacramer:

I think they are very very hot and I think that is the best one of them but I do not own it.

tjschill asks:

You have previously written about the drugs as interest rate sensitive, so why are you buying them with the future of interest rates up in the air?

Creme_Delacramer:

Because I think that rates have backed up enough to attract real buyers. That's why.

lufml72 asks:

Do you ever think of a situation in which the market comes back to 6000 points as did Japan's market???

Creme_Delacramer:

Sure, I think of disaster scenarios all of the time. But I refuse to let them paralyze me and they do paralyze many people.

stckpimp asks:

Dear Mr. Cramer, What is your option on the future of ASP (application service provider) companies?

Creme_Delacramer:

These are very hot companies but I fear that I will not be on top of them if something changes.

chipindianapolis asks:

The street.com is all over Lucent today but don't all company's fudge the numbers somewhat?

Creme_Delacramer:

No, I think that is simply wrong. Most don't. Most people are honest. You either believe that or you don't.

mmarteen asks:

What's a good target price for CSCO?

Creme_Delacramer:

I don't sell my cisco until John Chambers steps down, which I hope he never does!!

boldbrush asks:

Where do you see the semiconductors going?

Creme_Delacramer:

I think they will trade higher as they are still very much in demand.

criticalcollaborator asks:

Is there a tug-of-war going on in the Internet sector between the business infrastructure side (BVSN, SEBL, VIGN) and the consumer internets (AMZN, YHOO, AOL)? It appears they are mutually exclusive of each other in seizing market leadership. Any thoughts on this?

Creme_Delacramer:

CC: That may very well be true. But in the end you need both to gp up to get a sustained rally in the sector because when the equipment stock rally and not the actual nets what happens is it says the actual nets will eventually run out of mpney.--see my state of the web piece for more from this weekend.

austhouse asks:

What do you think about Compuware going forward?

Creme_Delacramer:

I have to study that quarter. It just reported and I have to listen to the conference call to make a judgment.

Wisc_badger asks:

When will you buy bank stocks?

Creme_Delacramer:

I think you can buy bank stocks after the next tightening.

informer100 asks:

Do you think extended trading hours is a bad thing?

Creme_Delacramer:

I think, selfishly that they are a bad idea-there is plenty of time to trade; but there are plenty of people who cannot trade during work or are hurt by the time zone differences. I can't say no to those people.

addictions4u asks:

If you have $5000.00, what 2 stocks would they be invested in today?

Creme_Delacramer:

Addictions--that is a personal question. I can answer it for myself: Cisco and Yahoo.

kckatydid asks:

What's your latest opinion of amazon?

Creme_Delacramer:

I am no longer long it having had a good hit after they announced that mall thing. They are very smart I have to admit.

schultzweb asks:

What is the future of the b2b space? It seems like it is the talk of the town...

Creme_Delacramer:

I am always wary when everyone is talking about a group. BUt I think that there is real potential here. GoldmanSachs has a great B to B report out.

MisterCrunchy asks:

Any opinion on Internet services cos. like SCNT, VIAN, APNT, PXCM, etc?

Creme_Delacramer:

These guys are smoking, particularly SCNT which is very very hot. But they trade very thinly and I don't know if they are for everybody.

yarnis asks:

YOU WERE LONG NORTHERN TEL, DO YOU STILL THINK IT IS CHEAP COMPARED TO CISCO?

Creme_Delacramer:

Yes, although I have to look at this Clarify thing because they just bought them.

oogle2 asks:

Will there be a big rally late Dec. and into the new Millinium as many have stated?

Creme_Delacramer:

It wouldn't surprise me at all.

HV27 asks:

Any thoughts on one of your RedHot, Phone.com now that it has announced a 2-1 split this afternoon?

Creme_Delacramer:

This stock is unbelievable, just unbelievable. I would not own it but I sure do admire the action., It is too hot even for me.

ericbrown2147 asks:

How good is dell stock in the long run?

Creme_Delacramer:

I think you have to wait for DRAM prices to peak before you get a good call on Dell.

Lil_C_10 asks:

what are your thoughts of TALK.com?

Creme_Delacramer:

Too much talk; not enough action.

lufml72 asks:

What's your thought on the US currency , still going lower ???

Creme_Delacramer:

I think it is bottoming. In fact, you should read mark chandler's excellent article on our site this morning.

muneca50 asks:

What do you think of Tyco? (from a worried shareholder)

Creme_Delacramer:

I am long it. Here is what is going on. A couple of institutions that own a lot of stock are just taking this thing apart and they aren't done. This is a huge bummer. It will not stop until they are finished.

FastActinTinactin asks:

Any thoughts on hard drive companies?

Creme_Delacramer:

STAY AWAY and I never use caps.

chipindianapolis asks:

Mr.Cramer if most company's don't fudge the numbers, why does cisco always report 1 penny above expectations?

Creme_Delacramer:

That's not fudging. When I used to run track I always set a goal that I could beat, but it would be a stretch goal. A 53 second quarter mile. When I beat it by a second I was proud. I never thought I was bagging anybody. Cisco is the same way in that it sets goals and beats them.

kckatydid asks:

What do you think of netegrity?

Creme_Delacramer:

I don't know Netgravity well enough for a judgment.

ray_nj_30 asks:

what do u make of the late day rally? have we seen a short term market bottom?

Creme_Delacramer:

Ray--I think that, and I hate to waffle, if we have a good cpi tomorrow, then we will have a n explosion for 400 to 500 points. A bad one and we will keep sliding. This rally was strictly shorts covering as I said in the site this afternoon.

tstevens24 asks:

What's your take on CMGI & Oracle?

Creme_Delacramer:

I don't think Oracle is that good a stock to own up here. I wish I were long CMGI as weatherall. Seems like the real deal--OOPS DELL JUST SAID NUMBERS ARE TOO HIGH!!!!!!!!!!

johngovon asks:

How good is entrust in the long run?

Creme_Delacramer:

Again, I have to tell you that in the long run I don't know--late night traders, be careful DELL--right now it is on the tape.

rat1069 asks:

How about retailers - TOM, GPS, ANF?

Creme_Delacramer:

I got smoked in ANF and I can't speak highly of it. GPS is boring right now both the stores and the stock. I think TOM is doing well but I don't like fashion stocks.

Lil_C_10 asks:

What do think about Nextel at theses levels?

Creme_Delacramer:

Oh boy what a move that has had. I would take it off the table.

ericbrown2147 asks:

ARE COMPUTER STOCKS SAFE WITH Y2K COMING Up?

Creme_Delacramer:

No, as I have said many times on the site, these are vulnerable. They are tricky here

great_guy_19_19 asks:

What do you think of an Internet startup that seeks to allow corporations to sell their debt(bonds, etc) over the Internet thereby bypassing the major brokerages?

Creme_Delacramer:

Oh, I guess it could have a future. But that stuff typically has to be sold. Someone has to sell it. I think that I can't endorse it yet. Too much out there already that sounds just like that.

sunmaid_1999 asks:

Should I buy VSTR down 5 bucks?

Creme_Delacramer:

I don't see why you should.

wmittyphd asks:

Short term on semis?

Creme_Delacramer:

I think these stocks are better to buy here. I am playing them to the long side.

Wisc_badger asks:

What's your feeling about a Y2K panic? Is this part of it?

Creme_Delacramer:

I think that when you are listening to Unisys or Ceridian or LExmark and they reference it you have to listen to it even if you are not worried. These companies are all referencing it as a factor.

brandonfre asks:

It seems to me Drug stocks where very strong today..Drugs and Drinks :)..do you feel they are good turn around plays once we establish a bottom? Thanks.

Creme_Delacramer:

YES that is exactly as I said on the site. I have been making that point for a whole bunch of pieces. Please look them over; go to thestreet.com where I write about ten times a day.

luv_that_tsc asks:

Jimbo: How's the Trading Goddess? Wrist better I hope! What are you doing marketwise lately that she disagrees with :) ?

Creme_Delacramer:

She wants to buy them down here. Her wrist is miserable and mishapen but thanks for asking. She did play tennis today, but only with her right hand. She had no backhand at all.

beech1997 asks:

Jim- Mets or Yankees?

Creme_Delacramer:

Easiest of all: Yanks. Bet the farm

tstevens24 asks:

JJC if we get below 10k is it a free for all? And will we see a 1hr show soon, I can't get enough.

Creme_Delacramer:

TS: you are very very kind. I sure hope so. I love that show. Below 10k won't be that big a deal. I am not that concerned.

Lil_C_10 asks:

What did dell say at the conference?

Creme_Delacramer:

Dell said drams spiked to the point where they hurt the company's margins. I think this is a great company and I wished I were long it. I will buy it the next dip if I can.

Icover asks:

Jim, your past articles on the subject of option trading have been great. Any suggestions as to a quality options course?

Creme_Delacramer:

There simply isn't one. I am not kidding. I suggest you scroll through our archives for more.

FastActinTinactin asks:

Any thoughts on starbucks?

Creme_Delacramer:

I think this one has had it for a while. Not good not bad.

kckatydid asks:

Can you name some credit card companies that you don't like or like?

Creme_Delacramer:

I like KRB and I think that Chase has a good credit card biz (I am long CMB) I would be careful with the other guys.

bull_fighter_99 asks:

Hey cramer what about the storage devices sector?

Creme_Delacramer:

I wanted to buy EMC today but I did not get a chance. That's the only name in the sector.

beech1997 asks:

Jim- Your opinion of Goldman's internet analyst Michael Parekh?

Creme_Delacramer:

Mike is a disciplined excellent analyst whose opinion I value immensely.

boozer1960 asks:

Do you think that this is a good time to buy ORCL?

Creme_Delacramer:

No, I want to buy it below $40.

Rude_hound asks:

What is your view on the recent "share crisis" America is having and its effects on the economic industry?

Creme_Delacramer:

I don't know of any share crisis. I think things are fine.

muneca50 asks:

Any thoughts on WINK? I bought GMST at 40 and did well and I thought it was a similar play but it's down 10% per day.

Creme_Delacramer:

Don't give up on it.

Anything_that_goes_up asks:

Jim -- any hope of getting Comcast to carry the show?

Creme_Delacramer:

Ah hah, yes, if you would ask them. I can't even get comcast to come fix my broken cable box . They were busy all day. I am very upset that Comcast blocks the show in my hometown in Philadelphia. I would be happy to do the show from Philly for them-live- right in front of the liberty bell if they would just carry Fox News Channel. I have a big family in Philadelphia and it upsets me greatly that they can't see it. It really bugs me.

steptinit asks:

What are your thoughts on CLIC?? Just a flash in the pan or still room to go up?

Creme_Delacramer:

Flash in the pan.

bull_fighter_99 asks:

Cramer with all technical indicators and charts showing the dow 30 and daq 100 in technical trouble, how long till we pull out of this?

Creme_Delacramer:

Bull fighter, I am not a technician and I ain't that concerned about it.

rasmussen_p asks:

This past summer, when the market got rocked by a bearish economic number, we rallied anew once the market acknowledged that a rate hike was in store. Do you think that could happen later this week if tomorrow's CPI makes a rate hike certain in November?

Creme_Delacramer:

Yes, I think that is a very plausible scenario.

boozer1960 asks:

What do you think about KKRS for long?

Creme_Delacramer:

Don't know them, sorry, cant make stuff up.

wmittyphd asks:

What do you see after earnings are over? You are just a super guy, keep up the good work and fine example.

Creme_Delacramer:

Wow--you made my day with that one. I think after earnings you will have a fine market. Again I am neither a superbull or bear here.

Birbal13 asks:

Do you think companies like InsWeb(INSW) can justify a 600Million Market Cap?

Creme_Delacramer:

No, but I would not bet against them. Take a look at my state of the web piece for more.

sunmaid_1999 asks:

Are there any good sell side internet analysts given all the deals they are working?

Creme_Delacramer:

Actually there are many good ones. Mike PArekh, Scott Reamer from Cowen, Paul Noglows from H&Q, Jamie Kiggen from DLJ--they are all very very good.

francis_martens asks:

DOW went below 10000 today. How do you explain going back up to 10116 ? What's happening?

Creme_Delacramer:

That was a big short covering rally as I detailed in my last dispatch on thestreet.com.

muneca50 asks:

Will TYC's upcoming quarter stop the selling pressure?

Creme_Delacramer:

I think only the moron sellers who keep selling would know the answer to that.

Anything_that_goes_up asks:

Jim -- how bout them Eagles??

Creme_Delacramer:

They made my day!! I was so excited. I couldn't believe it. I can't believe how much I care about my birds. I just cant believe it. I can't believe how happy a win makes me.

Rude_hound asks:

Would you say that Viacal has had a massive impact on the current street prices?

Creme_Delacramer:

Beats me.

andyv43 asks:

Any thoughts on Berkshire Hathaway?

Creme_Delacramer:

I think that this stock is just going to mark time for some time. It is not in the right stocks.

ciscokid2001 asks:

Hey Jim! Any thought on Scientific Atlanta?

Creme_Delacramer:

Yes, they compete with MOT/GIC and I would not want to compete with them.

wpo3520860 asks:

What do you know about HSAC?

Creme_Delacramer:

Great name for a stock, don't know of it though.

Wisc_badger asks:

You have YHOO as a long term hold? why?

Creme_Delacramer:

Because this is one of two net companies that could have exploding gross margins and revenues which is what it is all about last time I looked.

Birbal13 asks:

Your long & short term opinion on Electroglas (EGLS).

Creme_Delacramer:

I like that whole sector, I like AMAT and NVLS more than that one though.

skipper_44089 asks:

Any thoughts on fallen giant SEARS?

Creme_Delacramer:

Let it fall.

icecream7_2000 asks:

Mr. Cramer, What do you think of PCLN?

Creme_Delacramer:

This is one of my least fave net stocks.

killians_98 asks:

Why the disparity between the Dow and the Nasdaq today?

Creme_Delacramer:

Dow had JP MOrgan reporting a darn good number.

siegels_2000 asks:

Could you follow up on your recent speech claiming that internet investing is stupid (my word, not yours)?

Creme_Delacramer:

That is such a gross restatement of my piece that I wont dignify it with a comment. Read the piece again. You know I didn't say that.

RTH5 asks:

I have gotten beat up holding LOR. Did I miss the boat? What do you think of LOR here?

Creme_Delacramer:

Good management so I wouldn't sweat it too much.

Lil_C_10 asks:

Will e-commerce stocks rise during 4th quarter?

Creme_Delacramer:

Everybody thinks they will, but what I worry about is what happens in q 1 and I think that I want to stick with the majors on the net so that I am not worried about seasonality.

RTH5 asks:

Where do you see MSFT a year from now?

Creme_Delacramer:

I think this stock , which I am long, can still rally big.

apartha asks:

What happens if IBM misses projections and MSFT just meets?

Creme_Delacramer:

That's the disaster scenario that everybody is worried about. We will go lower, maybe 1000 points lower if that scenario takes hold, but I don't think it will.

micketm asks:

What are your top 5 holdings?

Creme_Delacramer:

Cisco, Intel, Yahoo, AOL, and BUD.

siegels_2000 asks:

What about PTVL (preview travel) and the merger?

Creme_Delacramer:

Not my style, I like the big ones not the also rans.

killians_98 asks:

How about TLAB?

Creme_Delacramer:

Supposed to be having a strong quarter, but I like others more.

Lil_C_10 asks:

wwfe just priced at $17 what are your thoughts?

Creme_Delacramer:

THis is hard for me because I, like many others, am trying to get stock. I think these guys have a great business model and it is very well run.

sunmaid_1999 asks:

Are the mets and yankees just a short term diversion for the misery of the jets/giants?

Creme_Delacramer:

Ahh, I refuse to be downhearted about those two great franchises. Remember, I am from Philadelphia and we have never won a superbowl. Never!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,.

Creme_Delacramer:

Thanks to Lisa and to all the good folks at Yahoo, this was a great one. I enjoyed it. Read me!!!
