James Cramer chatted on Yahoo! on March 11 at 4:45 p.m. EST.

Yahoomc:

Welcome to Yahoo! Chat with Jim Cramer!

Creme_Delacramer:

Hey, what a wild, wild day -- lets get started!

clippers99 asks:

Love Ya Cramer, still like Dell long and short term?

Creme_Delacramer:

No, short term, but maybe long term. I think Dell's quarter last was disappointing to everyone including Michael, and I don't like the PC stocks.

CruisinForGold asks:

Was today the antithesis to 10/08/98? Lots of misprints - bids over asks Great job on TheStreet.com

Creme_Delacramer:

To some degree it was that. Too much bullishness for me actually. Thanks for the TheStreet.com mention!

number_guy asks:

Do you believe in the move in oil service stocks?

Creme_Delacramer:

I have said repeatedly on the TheStreet.com site that we would have quick rotation in and then out of the group and that is just what we had!

ronzo414 asks:

Cramer, You're the man. Where do you think this market is going in the short term. Do you think we will have up to a 10% correction?

Creme_Delacramer:

No, I think the market is just fine. Sometimes it gets a little too hot and then it corrects itself. I don't see a big correction on the horizon.

Exocytosis asks:

Is MSFT about to drop a bomb on the tech sector?

Creme_Delacramer:

No, my partner is on the MSFT call and I am sure we will have a good call if that is so, but I suspect the conference call is meant to be benign.

YoZigZag asks:

How high is AOL's P/E capable of going? It is 410+

Creme_Delacramer:

As you know I am long AOL so please take what I say with a grain of salt, but I think this company trades with deals and revenues and sign ups and for those we are still early on. I am a bull on AOL, I plead guilty to that!

Exocytosis asks:

If you could own only 5 Internet stocks, what would they be?

Creme_Delacramer:

Remember, I will be mentioning stocks I do own, so please don't attack me for touting them: AOL, YHOO, INKT, EBAY are the only four I own now. I am constantly working on others but those I have put my money where my mouth is.

number_guy asks:

Are you still trimming positions at these levels?

Creme_Delacramer:

Yes, all I can say is that I believe stocks get more expensive as they go higher. I took more off the table again today as the market seemed too hot to me. In fact, away from the financials I am rather lean at this point with a nice amount of cash.

diz5678 asks

What is your opinion of Pfizer?

Creme_Delacramer:

That is the only drug stock I am long here. I have sold all of the others. I bought more recently because I could not believe how well it acted after the negative viagra-for-women news broke. That's strong!

FizzFazz asks:

Are you long Penn in the NCAA?

Creme_Delacramer:

You know I gotta love Penn. But I don't put them in the final four and unfortunately I am old enough to remember when they last played at those lofty levels, or at least the regionals.

julia402 asks:

what are your opinions on Internet brokerage stocks such as Ameritrade or Etrade?

Creme_Delacramer:

These guys are all having phenomenal growth which makes them interesting to me but I am not in them now because they have had such a move.

test_tube_chili asks:

What about the EBAY liability for gun sales? Is that of any concern to John Q. Shareholder?

Creme_Delacramer:

Not at all. I think EBAY has gotten away from that and the recent Brooklyn decision against the manufacturers will not apply to them. I am long EBAY.

options_pendulum asks:

what do you think can roil the market at this point before April earnings?

Creme_Delacramer:

It will be the earnings -- just in Nets get Marbury! -- in the form of pre-announcements of disappointments.

dougiebay asks:

What are the three best run companies out there?

Creme_Delacramer:

CSCO, GE and Goldman Sachs. I am long the first one.

Jontausa asks:

Any thoughts about Beyond.com?

Creme_Delacramer:

You know I want to own this stock but I am so worried that Amazon will come in against them that I have stayed away.

Mitch_Stewart asks:

Cramer, what are your favorite telcos? Are you still long AT&T?

Creme_Delacramer:

I have big positions in T and WCOM and like them very much. I bought a lot of T today.

Mitch_Stewart asks:

Cramer, what are you buying in this rally, if anything?

Creme_Delacramer:

I am a seller into this rally, Mitch, not a buyer. The only buys I made today were in telco and in banks.

uga19 asks:

What do you see for the future of HP with the split?

Creme_Delacramer:

Two boring companies instead of one big boring company.

options_pendulum asks:

Lets talk Ferraris: thoughts on YHOO and AMZN between now and April?

Creme_Delacramer:

Two of my favorites. Ferraris -- these are F-115s!

RB_UK_TSC asks:

What effects/plays do you see from Bank Reform & will it pass?

Creme_Delacramer:

Non-issue, really boring and I don't think it will make anyone any money except the lobbyists.

tmingo44 asks:

Cramer, where do you fall on CheckFree?

Creme_Delacramer:

My sword.

joker1676 asks:

What's with the satellite communications?

Creme_Delacramer:

Gee, I am not there. I am in the traditionals.

clippers99 asks:

Time to nibble at gaming stocks yet?

Creme_Delacramer:

Not that hungry. I have to be Donner Party hungry to nibble at those.

pleiotropik asks:

Cramer: when is AMZN going to have a p/e of 100?

Creme_Delacramer:

It will never fall that much!

goin4thegold asks:

Jim would you buy AtHome at $125.00?

Creme_Delacramer:

Okay, everybody who is in AtHome has to go to TheStreet.com after this and read the story just posted by Jim Seymour about AOL and AtHome. It is brilliant and tells you why it went down 6 today and why I am worried. I am neither long nor short.

desmondcarter asks:

What do you think about Sun Microsystems?

Creme_Delacramer:

I am long it. I took some real lumps today in it, but one day does not a year make.

Fridley26 asks:

What were your conclusions re the recent TSC conference on techs? Thank you.

Creme_Delacramer:

I thought that was terrific. I came away thinking the analysts are too cautious and too small-minded about the Net and that it is much bigger than I thought. I loved that conference and usually I like a quiet Friday night at home!

WhyteRavyn asks:

What are your thoughts about the relationship between technology making trading more accessible with sites like TheStreet.com and the rapid growth of the market?

Creme_Delacramer:

I have one unequivocal stand on this: it is democratic, levels the playing field for the little guy, and is therefore great!

unkadoug asks:

What do you think of ZD, with their ZDNet spinoff coming up?

Creme_Delacramer:

Pass.

jgasber asks:

How bad of a sign is the Ingram news today for the other box makers, i.e. Dell?

Creme_Delacramer:

None, as Ingram is in the crosshairs of the Net. You don't need jobbers with the Net and it is that level of capitalism that is being annihilated by the Net.

jjwray asks:

What do you think of Tommy Hilfiger?

Creme_Delacramer:

I'm more of a Banana Republic guy. TOM has been a great stock and I left it way too early. That is a well-run company.

Clancy752 asks:

Any plans for Phillip Morris to follow RJR Nabisco?

Creme_Delacramer:

I don't care anymore as I think the real story with MO is that they have taken their eyes off the ball and are now just a bunch of smoking lawyers. Ugh!

cromba asks:

Mr. Cramer, should I really bring donuts on my next interview?

Creme_Delacramer:

There is a terrific Krispy Kreme four blocks from here. Just a hint!

StkMrkts asks:

Jim please say Blah, Blah, Blah so we really know it's you.

Creme_Delacramer:

Blah, Blah, Blah! By the way, ORCL is trading at 32-33 as we Speak. Someone doesn't like that number! stinko!

pkonan asks:

What do you think of Boston Scientific? What's with the volume and sudden rise?

Creme_Delacramer:

This stock has alluded me. I have shied away from all stocks and music groups with the name Boston, I guess. I like Guidant but I am not long it.

RB_UK_TSC asks:

Did you play the Victoria's Secret Hype with IBI?

Creme_Delacramer:

You know my wife was so appalled by that sexist piece of &%#@^&@&@^& of that I was afraid to buy the stock. I am glad I didn't even though it would have been a good gain. I don't invest politically correctly but this one was a huge exploitation game and I was very surprised more women weren't upset by this mindlessness.

big_gov asks:

30-year yields: up, down, sideways, short- and long-term?

Creme_Delacramer:

Hey Big Gov -- great name. I think you are going to trade highs and lower yields over time.

kparikh_1 asks:

Jim, what's your opinion on BRCM?

Creme_Delacramer:

Hardly a day doesn't go buy when I don't want to get back in but this one has had such a run that I have to wait.

fittybagger asks:

What do you think of PCOR?

Creme_Delacramer:

Too hot for me but it is a good one.

laurbeck2 asks:

In a consolidation of the chemical companies where does Union Carbide stand?

Creme_Delacramer:

Oh everybody wants to play that for a takeout. Let me tell you that I do not play that game if the earnings aren't any good because you can get crushed. The chemical stocks are terrible and I don't want to be in them.

felixlugomf asks:

What do you think of PRGY, you think it can perform as AOL and ATHM?

Creme_Delacramer:

I think Prodigy is lucky to be alive.

st_l asks:

Any opinions on Sony's restructuring and will Japan Inc. follow?

Creme_Delacramer:

I did a massive amount of work on Sony right before the restructuring and all I can say is that no one thought these guys could do anything right. Sony and Japan continue to surprise to the upside. I like Japan.

rusie98 asks:

If oil rise is temp ... are airlines a good buy on this dip?

Creme_Delacramer:

I covered two airline shorts today and want to get long some of them.

winebg asks:

You always have a good feel for a bottom for Intel, what number are all the big volume buys waiting for?

Creme_Delacramer:

I started buying a small amount at the close because of a breakfast tomorrow. I think this stock could be ready soon, but I hate big transitions at Intel and we are in a big one right now.

kewgardens98 asks:

what about the biotech stocks?

Creme_Delacramer:

How many times can I miss that darn AMGN!! I think these stocks are great on a pullback and i like the majors: BGEN, AMGN and IMNX.

clippers99 asks:

You attending the Oscars this year? You are quite the celeb now.

Creme_Delacramer:

Oh please. You know this celeb stuff doesn't cut it in suburbia. The celeb thing continues to elude me as I go to the cleaners, do the food shopping, work with the girls on their homework and fall asleep in my youngest daughter's bed in the middle of Jack and the Beanstalk because I am so darn tired!

jh7 asks:

Do you think ERICY will ever beat NOKA again ?

Creme_Delacramer:

I keep thinking there could be a great trade in ERICY if it gets its act together and it keeps screwing up. Nokia is the class act hands down.

RB_UK_TSC asks:

Buying any European banks?

Creme_Delacramer:

I was thinking about both ING and Dresden but I am very, very long the US banks and don't need any other bank exposure.

BillyMumphrey asks:

Is a company's CFO leaving a sign of accounting troubles?

Creme_Delacramer:

Nah, it depends on the situation of course.

edapnis asks:

Can you please explain the differences in using on-line services such as Etrade vs. using MB Trading. I understand there is a difference in on-line firms; those that allow you to trade directly in the market and those that are not directly tied into the market. Is this correct?

Creme_Delacramer:

Not that I know of. I think the difference if any is infininimetessimal or however you spell that one.

JohnSgro asks:

Hiya Jim! Is Sqwawk really as much fun as it seems to be to us guys watching from "the outside?"

Creme_Delacramer:

John, I am so glad you asked that. You know I was talking with my Dad today and he was disappointed that because of scheduling snafus I won't be on until next Wednesday. And I said "You think you are disappointed? That's the highlight of my month! You see Haines is a serious, great guy and that show is like being with both Madden and Summeral when the Eagles are trouncing the Cowboys. It is everything I find exciting about this business. It is our Superbowl.

Ryco1 asks:

Any thoughts on the USAI/Lycos deal?

Creme_Delacramer:

When this is over Bob Davis will have lost his job and his company. This man is in over his head. Why is everyone so afraid to say that? Sometimes I am over my head. Heck, put me in an operating room and I will kill you. This guy can't deal with the level of glitz that Diller dangles. I have been in there with those sharp glamour people. they force you to take your eye off the ball. They force you to do the wrong things. Davis ought to quit and move on. This is an embarrassment.

redlinerev asks:

How about Disney? Are you long?

Creme_Delacramer:

No, but I think that I will buy some ahead of Doug's First Movie because I am really into Doug.

AUSTIN4569 asks:

What is the stupidest question someone ever asked you on the Internet?

Creme_Delacramer:

Why did I short Wavephore and go on t.v. and talk about it, because I never did short it, and that was quite clear from what I said when I was on CNBC.

jmrinzler asks:

What do you think of this week's Barron's cover? Can Novell quadruple its stock price?

Creme_Delacramer:

Boy Barron's has gotten pretty promotional in its old age hasn't it? I thought that was a pretty pie-in-the-sky piece.

Exocytosis asks:

Why is QWST doing so well?

Creme_Delacramer:

Everybody wants bandwidth. I just did a poll on our site and asked what people thought was the best way to play the Net, and the plurality went to QWST!

RICHERthenU asks:

What do you think about Fairchild?

Creme_Delacramer:

I cannot comment on small cap positions I own. I have learned that lesson the hard way. When I talk small cap I talk National Gift Wrap and Box Company -- my Dad's company! MSFT on the tape saying they see expected sequential slowdown. I know this is not really new news but on top of the ORCL shortfall it will be viewed as negative.

propane66 asks:

Have you bought any Cendant lately?

Creme_Delacramer:

Did we just go through thermonuclear war and nobody told me about it? Cause I said I wouldn't buy this one until after the world blew up!

winebg asks:

My broker is suggesting buying Ciena, your thoughts?

Creme_Delacramer:

You should use Etrade!

coco44_88 asks:

J.C. any insight into the potential for ELON?

Creme_Delacramer:

Gotta pass; don't know enough.

StochasticsSurfer asks:

What do you think about USA tech stocks vs. German tech stocks?

Creme_Delacramer:

No contest, I like 'em born in the USA.

ruffnstuff4 asks:

So, thoughts on the paper industry?

Creme_Delacramer:

Stay away.

gjstein2 asks:

Any short term opinions on GE, ahead of itself or not?

Creme_Delacramer:

No, GE is just fine. I buy it whenever it comes down.

advancehaus asks:

Is Y2K something to really be worried about?

Creme_Delacramer:

I intend to be on an airplane elevator in the big 767 jet at midnight, December 31 just to prove the point! Take that Yardeni!

crfhtn asks:

Will Sunbeam survive?

Creme_Delacramer:

Oh I get it, Sunbeam, Cendant, you want to bring out all of the skeletons. I think SOC may limp into the 21st century.

felixlugomf asks:

Do you see any stock benefited by Linux and how hard you think it might hit MSFT?

Creme_Delacramer:

Linux -- Oh I am sick of hearing about red hat already -- sounds like fog hat to me. That said, I am not long MSFT for this and many other reasons. Although, lower I will buy.

MONEYMAKER4236 asks:

Jim -- Love TSC! Need better coverage of NCAA Tourney! I was on Sportsline.com all day!!

Creme_Delacramer:

You know, there is this guy, Andy Serwer, who does the Fortune.com business stuff. He is the man for the NCAA. What I wouldn't give to have that guy write for TSC! He is rocking! If you don't read that column during march madness you are a loser!

brazoskid asks:

You just mentioned Seymour's article. Haven't read it but your thoughts on AWRE?

Creme_Delacramer:

Seymour likes it and I defer to him. I have to tell you that Seymour is one of those guys that I didn't think exists. He knows everything. He is a little scary and intimidating like that, kind of like the kid in class who knew all of those science answers that stumped your teachers. He is the Intimidator!

snapperjoe asks:

Is the Ebay short squeeze over?

Creme_Delacramer:

Gee, I am long it so I hope not!

je_wyss asks:

Jim, what do you think of 3Com's chances, and the likelihood of a spinoff of Palm Computing?

Creme_Delacramer:

I hate to hem and haw like this and be so indefinite and wishy-washy but 3Com sucks!

crfhtn asks:

Do you think Europe and Japan will be strong tomorrow morning?

Creme_Delacramer:

I think Japan trades in its own world and that world is good. Europe is anybody's guess. Hey, how about what a loser that Euro is!! Wasn't that supposed to make fools of us? Greenback holders, being an American is pretty amazing, you gotta admit. Even with that guy in the white house doing those strange things behind door number 3. In that Lewinsky interview, didn't you just love those diagrams!

BillyMumphrey asks:

Do you think Argentina is the Hong Kong of Latin America?

Creme_Delacramer:

What is this the SAT? I don't do those analogies.

StkMrkts asks:

Jim is there any truth to the rumor that you will team up with Jesse "The Body" Ventura and run as his Vice President?

Creme_Delacramer:

I haven't been in touch with that man, but we would be like two satellite dishes running for President -- wireless delight!

texas_twang1 asks:

do you think there will be a huge sell off when the market reaches 10000?

Creme_Delacramer:

Nah. there will be some program sell off and then we will have to hear about how the Dow 10,000 CNBC show was the top. I am not worried.

cmcbrewster asks:

What's your take on Outback Steakhouse (OSSI)?

Creme_Delacramer:

If only I had not eaten there!! I would have been long the darn thing!

donearleedwards asks:

Jim, Is EMC a solid stock for a long-term hold portfolio?

Creme_Delacramer:

What a stock!! This one is the virtual rocket ship of stocks. The company is extremely well run and I think it is a great. that said I let go of it yesterday because I am paring tech.

Mitch_Stewart asks:

Cramer, are the drug stocks overvalued and do you own any?

Creme_Delacramer:

The only one I own is Pfizer. They have had a big run but I still like them.

spencerchen asks:

Jim, when will Altavista be spun off?

Creme_Delacramer:

Gotta do a mind meld with Eckhard Pfiffer for that one!

crfhtn asks:

Is Korn Ferry a value below the $14 IPO price?

Creme_Delacramer:

I listened to the guy today talk on CNBC and he seemed to know what he was doing. But you know this market has no tolerance for stocks with no sizzle. This stock has none.

spencerchen asks:

Which index do you watch the closest?

Creme_Delacramer:

TheStreet.com's DOT index! Hoo-hah. And the Dow.

CruisinForGold asks:

What's with the Tracking Stock biz lately - Do you buy it?

Creme_Delacramer:

They are a waste of time. Not at all. In fact, I think these stocks are just investment bankers delights. Net, Telco, banks.

rolledog asks:

Jim, what are your top 3 industries for the next quarter?

Creme_Delacramer:

You know I am a National League kind of guy -- no opinion.

BillyMumphrey asks:

What do you think of Monsanto?

Creme_Delacramer:

Don't know it. Here is a company that has bitten off more than it can chew and I don't like it.

ncg3939 asks:

What do you think of Time Warner and other cable stocks at these levels?

Creme_Delacramer:

I am long TWX. I still like the cable stocks but I am worried about the stuff that Jim Seymour's been writing about on TSC's site.

sblade388 asks:

What do you think of E.spire Communication's recent rally?

Creme_Delacramer:

I almost lost my shirt in this company and I am not about to go back there. That it made me think that the company could get a bid. But I wont play, I said there was a story on our site about heavy options, and buying calls.

Elfhelm007 asks:

I bought some Golden Books stock before the falling out. It was then re valuated to under a dollar. What should I do?

Creme_Delacramer:

My take is this -- it is worthless and you should use it as a tax loss. What a crying shame this one didn't work out. I read their books every night.

BillyMumphrey asks:

Any thoughts on Peapod? Online grocers have just not benefited from the net boom!

Creme_Delacramer:

They should do well eventually. I have been critical of Drugstore.com but my friends love it! So I have to keep an open mind!!

biren13 asks:

Do you think Semiconductor stocks will hold up - AMAT and MU in particular?

Creme_Delacramer:

I am no longer in those stocks, I have scaled out of PC and PC related, and those relate.

Mitch_Stewart asks:

Jim, what are you selling into this rally?

Creme_Delacramer:

PC and PC related as well as now, consumer stocks because they have run up too much.

dcraze asks:

Where does the energy market go from here?

Creme_Delacramer:

Down.

Mr. Cramer, what is the #1 thing to look for when you are going to purchase stock?

Creme_Delacramer:

Down. Management. That's also two three and four.

olledog asks:

Jim, as band width increases, where do you see media companies aligning?

Creme_Delacramer:

My media companies are AOL and Yahoo and to me they are the only ones I care about in size.

crfhtn asks:

Why did Seagate crater so bad?

Creme_Delacramer:

Okay, why not give MBK, Bank of Tokyo a try. This could be Citicorp at Ten in 1990.

karpiak_kleber asks:

Real estate market sizzling, outlook for Home Depot??

Creme_Delacramer:

Home Depot is a superior company. If you have not been to Home Depot Expo you are in for a treat. I hope this stock comes down so I can buy some.

paramount2 asks:

Your thoughts on interest rates?

Creme_Delacramer:

Rates are going lower I think, and I think that it will happen by April.

big_gov asks:

Three stocks to give as bar mitzah gift?

Creme_Delacramer:

Thirteen year olds can sit with stock: AOL, YAHOO and WCOM!!!

Creme_Delacramer:

This was the best chat we have done, I mean it. Lots of great questions, lots of pointed stuff. Trade well, but trade carefully! I will see you on TheStreet.com! Thanks Lisa you are the very, very best!
