Introducing the GBS Internet-Question Indicator

Just one this week. Still, there are plenty of other charts to look at, including JDS Uniphase, Mattel and Berkshire Hathaway.

Boy, you can learn a lot from these columns. My great chart-reading? Nah, anyone can do that. No, the real thing to look for is the kind of questions I get. Remember, the questions in the forum are just a sampling of the hundreds I receive. But they're a fair sampling.

So, what can you learn? Well, for starters, there's only one Internet question today. I mean, that's remarkable, isn't it? So, I guess if you use this column as a contrary indicator, that says load up on

, etc., right? Well maybe, but if you haven't, read my Friday

column first.

As always, queries and comments go to And I'd love your full name, as we have no secrets here.

Still Looking for a Bottom

Your advice lately has been nothing less than dazzling. I was wondering if you could say a few words about Excite@Home (ATHM) ? I got out at 52 about four weeks ago and I'm looking for a bottom. What do you think? -- Rob Greenberg

Don't normally tune in here for box scores, but I apparently overlooked Pittsburgh swimming results. Any chance of readers getting an update? -- Bob Carper

Amazing Grace

Would you have taken W.R. Grace (GRA) as a GBS classic long at the open Aug. 13? Also on GBS classics, if the "depth" of congestion (an indicator you have mentioned regarding the potential ascent) is less or more than your 5% profit target, which exit strategy do you go with? By the way, if you would have considered Grace, what price would you have looked to get out at? Sorry, one last one: Would you draw support for Grace at 19 1/2 or 19? -- Justin Torrance

Buffett's Bumming

How about Berkshire Hathaway (BRKA) ? -- Julian Burnett

Toying With a Bottom

Is Mattel (MAT) poised to go higher or is it in a trading range? What is the outlook? -- Regina Robinson

To the Moon, Alice
