meeting in Washington today.
The Fed's decision not to change rates was mostly ignored by the market, though stocks and bonds failed to move decisively ahead of the expected announcement.
Dow Jones Industrial Average
spent the morning on either side of yesterday's close, but didn't stray too far in either direction.
was shown walking to the Fed's D.C. headquarters. But that was about all the excitement the Fed could produce.
All in all, the meeting lived up to its billing as a nonevent.
