James Cramer chatted on Yahoo! on Feb. 16.

Creme_Delacramer

: Hello everybody! What a day--so much so fast! Lets get started now !

tenbagger asks

: Jim, what does the Trading Goddess think about the market now?

Creme_Delacramer

: The TG says the market has gotten too crazy. She thinks there will be a wash-out and until then cash is king!

CyberStockHype asks

: Cramer what are your thoughts on interest rates where will they go this year?

Creme_Delacramer

: I think interest rates are headed lower not higher

DrewAber asks

: What kind of advice would you give to someone who would like to make a living in the stock market?

Creme_Delacramer

: I think discipline is something that must be learned if you are going to make aliving in the market. Rules, discipline, homework and I believe you will do fine.

lindana asks

: What effect will Dell's numbers have on tomorrow's market?

Creme_Delacramer

: Dell, which I am long, is trading quite poorly right now. I just bought some stock at 75.5. That is way way down. , I think it will have a severely negative effect, but I think people are moving away from tech right now and this will confirm that

MikeNau asks

:asks: Jim, on a 4-5 year time horizon, do you still like big cap technology stocks

Creme_Delacramer

: Very very much. In fact, I am betting that Dell's decline will give us a great chance to get into some other stocks that will get hurt because Dell missed its revenue numbers.

jacknyc2000 asks

: Goldman hasn't had any pharma coverage since Prem Lachman & Co. left. While I can understand that Lachman is a hard act to follow, don't you think it's about time for GS to re-start coverage?

Creme_Delacramer

: I am sure GS is working on that. I have to tell you though that Prem will be a very hard act to follow. I loved him!

JFKAZ asks

: JIM WHA TIS YOUR THOUGHTS BOEING INLIGHT OF THE CHINA MORATOIUM ON BUYING AIRPLANES

Creme_Delacramer

: Boeing is so problematic. there is such huge value there. But there is such poor management and the cycle is at a low. I think that Boeing, which I dont own, will be a great stock again someday, but it is only for the most patient of investors.

tenbagger asks

: Jim, which chip maker looks like it has more upside? MU or TXN.

Creme_Delacramer

: Tenbagger, this is a tough call. I look at my sheets (I am long MU) and they speak loudly. But both are going to take hits tomorrow and I would like to buy them.

royksund98 asks

: Jim, what, do you feel are the best stocks until the end of the decade?

Creme_Delacramer

: I like a pastiche of stocks, but remember the end of the decade is right around the corner. I like finance, drug, retail and tech

angf36 asks

: Jim, how about inktomi? do you think this one has earmarks of a winner?

Creme_Delacramer

: Holy cow, we saw them last week and were very impressed. But it has a lock-up, one of those stock restrictions, opening up and it also has a new tough competitor (actually an old one but it will be public) in Ata Vista. That said Inktomi is a great company.

kacpilot asks

: Jim, What are your thoughts on Broadcom(BRCM) Post-spilt?

Creme_Delacramer

: Broadcom is a very good company but it is priced for perfection. I am no longer long the stock but would get back in at $100 or below.

tenbagger asks

: Jim, Prodigy's market cap is now bigger than Earthlink. Isn't that WRONG?

mjfanbaysidenet asks

: Where do you see online brokers such as E*Trade going?

Creme_Delacramer

: I am not close enough to make that judgment, sorry I must say up front that ETRADE has a deal with thestreet.com. I am not long the stock. But I think they are doing everything right on an operating model. they must, however, address these customer service issues satisfactorily because this is a very competitive business.

Parallox asks

: When do you feel the slumping oil market will pick up again?

Creme_Delacramer

: I think you need to see dramatic improvement in the Asian and Latin American economies before you will see a turn. that's where all of the soggy demand is, and i dont see a change any time soon alhtough I think Asia has bottomed.

jwang66 asks

: What is the future for Pepsi ? Is it a good price to buy right now ?

Creme_Delacramer

: Of the beverage stocks I like it least. I like BUD (am long) and Coke (long calls) and I think Pepsi has the least going for it of the three

Anything_that_goes_up asks

: Jim -- MO keeps getting hammered. Any thoughts on holding it long-term?

Creme_Delacramer

: I have given up on these guys but not for the reasons you would think. MO has a BAD quarter; the growth is slowing and most important it is turning out that the pricing of cigarettes as damped consumption

DawgHawk asks

: Jim, where do you see Amazon going from here?

Creme_Delacramer

: Very very tough call. I am no longer high on e-commerce stocks in general. Also, when the company reported its last quarter it warned investors to expect nothing near-term. that said, it is a very well-run company and I would buy it lower.

avij123 asks

: What's the outlook on Citigroup?

Creme_Delacramer

: I think Citigroup is a great company and a good merger but I dont like the brokers much I am afraid (except the e-brokers) and I would prefer other banks stocks

JMMsb asks

: So, is growth at a reasonable price going to come back into fashion?

Creme_Delacramer

: JMMsb I am thinking that it is. In my columns in www.thestreet.com I have been harpin gon this notion that TSEL, the stocks everybody loves, are getting too rich and unattractive versus the rest of the market.

FrancisPhelan asks

: Cramer - what are your three favorite novels?

Creme_Delacramer

: Anna Karenina, War and Peace and the Brothers Karamazov

alexbird asks

: Opinions on Ericsson telephone, hold, sell?

Creme_Delacramer

: I think I like Motorola (which I am long) and Nokia more than I like ericsson Overdone which way? many stocks are still too high!

DickCory asks

: Jim, got any opinion on much anticipated ipos/spin-offs like ZDnet (ZD), NetRadio (NAVR) and e-lottery (XTON) . . . all of which have received considerable press recently

Creme_Delacramer

: No I do not. I am sorry. It is very tricky to comment on these companies ahead of doing a lot of work on them and I haven't

avij123 asks

: Do you think CPQ will continue to consolidate?

Creme_Delacramer

: Yes, especially after the Dell fiasco (I am not long cpq)

zimco asks

: Is the "I love Lucent" sign still on your computer?

Creme_Delacramer

: Indeed it is and I do

nilthon asks

: Could you give an opinion on Cybercash CYCH Please?, Thanks

Creme_Delacramer

: I have never been that interested in those guys. I like a lot of other cyber names more

richlon asks

: Will Golden Books be bought out?

Creme_Delacramer

: Way too speculative for me. That stocks has hurt a lot of people

stephen_newcombe asks

: I am thinking cash position, market bubble, thoughts?

Creme_Delacramer

: Stephen: look we are in a correction. I dont know when it will end but I am keeping a hefty cash position and I agree.

TeamKool26x asks

: Do you like the drugs here, specifically PNU?

Creme_Delacramer

: I think PNU had a great quarter and I like the company very much. I was looking to buy some today but it did not come in for sale.

JBLEDBETTER asks

: Any ideas on the impact of y2K on market levels and confidence.

Creme_Delacramer

: I think it will be a problem but a dealable problem

rpaj asks

: Hey Jim Why do you feel The market is going to Nuke after Dell's inline report?

Creme_Delacramer

: I am just reacting to the difficult trading in Dell right now in Instinet. Dell is trading at $78, which is up from $75 but way down from where it went out Dell is a big big company so it will have impact. the fact that it reported an in-line number doesn't mean anything. People were focused on the revenues and they were lite.

mikeapNY asks

: Is AWRE a good buy at this level (33)?

Creme_Delacramer

: I only know Aware from Jim Seymour's excellent excellent column in thestreet.com. The stock has been for sale for weeks it seems and is getting more interesting. BBut I am not long it

fergusondd asks

: If we are rotating out of big tech, where do you see the new leadership coming from?

Creme_Delacramer

:: I think it will come from boring safe names that have come in. Lets take the banks--they are not expensive. Neither are some of the foods.

BillyMumphrey asks

: Do you think Broadcast.com or Real Networks has the potential to emerge as standards in the streaming media sector of the internet?

Creme_Delacramer

:: Yes i do but I do not own them. That doesn't mean I don't want to. It does mean that I want to pick my internet spots. For some time now I have said I want limited Net exposure until the griddle cools. It is cooling but not enough yet.

Winte94499 asks

: What is the deal with IFMX? They beat estimates but are dropping like a rock?

Creme_Delacramer

: The stock had had a very very big run off a depressed base. Could be massive profit taking

FrancisPhelan asks

: Love TSC - Does the fear of a rising interest rate scenario justify the beating that banks like SunTrust and First Union have taken?

Creme_Delacramer

: I don't think so. In fact that is where I think the value is in the market. However, I don't want to load the boat up because these stocks have no momentum

bmorrissey1998 asks

: Jim - Cardiac stents have been touted as a growth market - who do you like, Guidant, Medtronic, Boston Scientific?

Creme_Delacramer

: Medtronics had some negative news out tonight about one of its acquisitions. I have to tell you I am continually impressed with Guidant but I don't own any.

angf36 asks

: Jim , do you like office depot?

Creme_Delacramer

: In that segment I prefer Staples which is one of my fave stores to shop at.

maverick1974 asks

: What kind of price movement will we see out of AOL going into next weeks' split?

Creme_Delacramer

: AOL has long been one of my favorites and I think the split will generate some interest but I believe that the Net is falling right now (correcting) and I would like to have more reasons to own AOL than the split. It remains one of my largest positions, but I am not buying any more just for the split

unkadoug asks

: CBS seems like a relatively cheap play on media, esp. radio, with internet assets. What do you think of CBS?

Creme_Delacramer

:: I think management is excellent but I prefer web stocks to networks.

tenbagger asks

: Jim, what will signal a bottom in the internet stocks? What signs are you looking for?

Creme_Delacramer

: Very very tough question. I know I will see it when I see it. It is kind of like how the Supreme Court views Pornography. I dont mean to be glib. However, I would point out that I write about this stuff all of the time for thestreet.com and I make my feelings known (which has never been one of my problmes!! LOL)

ETPell asks

:: Do you have any "Sleeper" stocks to reccomend?

Creme_Delacramer

: First of all I don't sleep!! I don't have many sleepers, other than some of the food stocks which nobody cares about except for me.

Waves8 asks

: Would Time Warner ever spin off Road Runner?

Creme_Delacramer

: I am long TWX. I would not be surprised if one day it merged Road Runner with AtHome. Boy would that be a powerful combo.

ski69_99 asks

: Jim, did you get back into Yahoo or are you still waiting for a good price, if ever?

Creme_Delacramer

: Yahoo and AOL are the two Net holdings I am taking in through this correction. they are the only two. I own no others. I don't want any others. They are too hard right now. And believe me it is not easy owning Yahoo with all of this Geocities pressure but I am a believer,.

billy244_1 asks

: he jim what do you think about the EURO.

Creme_Delacramer

: Wow, like really boring.

jshanley asks

: MSN, Amazon deal announced today .. any movement in AMZN because of this .. or is MSN penetration too low to matter?

Creme_Delacramer

: You got it; too low to matter

DBC47 asks

: Any thoughts on EMC? I can find nothing negative and everyone seems very bullish on it

Creme_Delacramer

: I am long EMC, but when I write about TSEL, which, again is The Stocks Everyone Loves EMC comes to mind. Everybody owns EMC which is the problem. that said there is a terrific piece in yesterday's NYTimes that should be read about EMC,. it talked about how great it was.

eveas asks

: hey, what about mutual fund?

Creme_Delacramer

: Wow, I am a huge believer in mutual funds if you don't have the time to do the work. In other words, I first prefer do-it-yourself because nobody, I mean nobody, cares as much as you about your money. But if you don't have time then I think you can use mutual funds. I also like the S&P 500 index funds for those who simply want exposure to equities. they have done well. And I think they still will.

bmorrissey1998 asks

: Do you feel the US biotech market is undervalued?

Creme_Delacramer

: No not really. In fact I think that it is pretty fully valued.

joespanish72 asks

: hey Jim, how you doing, first i would like to tell you that you are an impressing guru, well I would like to know what's the key of success.

Creme_Delacramer

: First of all, Joe, you are very kind. But you know when I think of gurus I think of people who are supposed to be all knowing. My column in thestreet.com is called Wrong, and one of the reasons it is called that is because of the mistakes I make. Wall Street gurus never admit mistakes! My secret: nothing but hard work I am afraid. Pretty simple and, and this is very important, lots of good luck and support from home including a terrific wife and kids and a great Dad and sister!!

DayTripperYeah asks

: Any recent IPO's you think are still undervalued?

Creme_Delacramer

: I cant think of any that aren't pretty fully priced I am afraid.

mjfanbaysidenet asks

:: Do you think the Nasdaq will hold, or is a big "correction" on it's way?

Creme_Delacramer

: I think we are in the correction, I am betting that tomorrow could be a very big day. I think we could flush out a lot of sellers which would be good for the market.

b_gould_99 asks

: Mr. Cramer any opinion on Greenspan getting the nod for third term.

Creme_Delacramer

: Oh Gee, I hope so. he has done a great job and is the envy of the world. He and Rubin are both true stars in my book. Couple of financial Michael Jordans there!

bobcox98 asks

: Jim, what are you thoughts on the USA/Lycos deal?

Creme_Delacramer

: I have articulated those (very negatively) repeatedly in thestreet.com.

newtopos asks

: Jim - what do you think about The Motley Fool guys?

Creme_Delacramer

: I would like to get a couple of those funny hats for my daughters. Great show and tell outfits don"t you think!?

deckert7 asks

: What's so hot about the Janus 20 (re ur Monday visit on CNBC)?

Creme_Delacramer

: That is a very well run fund. You know there is no sense being jealous in this business. Better just to say "hey that guy is doing a terrific job" And he is and my hat is off to him. Oh, and it is not a jester hat it is a thestreet.com hat!

rpaj asks

: What do you think about the WSJ article on Kellogs? Are they worth getting back in?

Creme_Delacramer

: I read that piece and thought it sounded pretty compelling but I am not long K

AnthDom asks

: Are you bearish now?

Creme_Delacramer

: Bullish, bearish--you know I have trouble with these labels. they simply don't make you a lot of money and make you blind to things. they trap you. I have a substantial amount of cash on hand, so if that makes me less bullish so be it. But I could commit that on a dime if the market really rolls over and it looks like there is some rough sledding ahead.

Canman169 asks

: Do you like any Canadian stocks?

Creme_Delacramer

: I keep bugging everybody here about buying Northern Tel but I have not pulled the trigger

Parallox asks

: Any idea when Priceline.com will have it's IPO and should I go long or short?

Creme_Delacramer

: Man, I don't know you or it so that is way beyond my ken!!!

njf82 asks

: how did you get into the hedge fund business?

Creme_Delacramer

: I worked at Goldman Sachs and then I decided to go out on my own I you want to read about it scroll back to 11/8/97 in thestreet.com archives

txcon99 asks

: Jim, what is your opinion on Emerging Market Funds?

Creme_Delacramer

: I am not a big fan right now. You need much stronger worldwide growth than we are getting so I have to shy away from those.

Waves8 asks

: Do you think a pro-wrestling company like WWF could make it as a public company?

Creme_Delacramer

:: Maybe if it were on line!

dandreyfus asks

: Do you see value in Corel?

Creme_Delacramer

: No, do you?

miaandhaz asks

: Do you think gaming stocks, Mir, Het, Hilton could make a turn around?

Creme_Delacramer

: No

CyberStockHype asks

: Over all market how much over valued is it really would you say?

Creme_Delacramer

: You know there really are two markets. there are the stocks everybody loves (TSEL) and there is everything else, and many of those stocks (banks, cyclicals,

dougieO asks

: what is your outlook on WCOM? Target Price?

Creme_Delacramer

: foods, savings and loans, autos , appliances) simply aren't expensive at all Oh darn, I sold WCOM on Friday. Looks like a really bad move today as the stock was up huge. This is one of my favorite stocks but I thought it had run up too much. that said it is one of the first stocks I will buy. Funny thing is I sold it because ATT had come down so far again that I thought it was more compelling than WCOM.

sherik1 asks

: You don't like CYCH - how about Checkfree (CKFR)?

Creme_Delacramer

: Again NADA, I just don't care for it.

svcesq asks

: Jim, any opinion on Compuware?

Creme_Delacramer

: Saw it was getting shelled for no reason but did not get in. I think that Compuware gets pulled down with the NDX and I worry that it has to retreat more before it stops going down.

unkadoug asks

: Jim, where do stand on the disk drives, esp. on WDC? I've seen that, a month ago, you were chatting them up on the Yahoo WDC board.

Creme_Delacramer

: Not me--I don't chat up stocks on boards. However, I did have a great trade in these stocks as they went bonkers recently. But I don't own them now and I would like to buy them after the summer is over.

ould_99 asks

: Mr. Cramer, isn't their tones of money sitting on the sidelines just waiting for a reason to get long?

Creme_Delacramer

: Yes, which is why I believe, very strongly, that we remain in a benign environment; but I fear that some stocks, again TSEL, have moved up too far and they could cause some pain which is why I keep a hefty cash position.

rdtu asks

: Have you noticed any trends in TSC's sentiment indicator yet?

Creme_Delacramer

: Yes, everybody is way too bullish versus what they should be. But I will tell you that if we say the Investors Intelligence numbers show some decline in bulls that would help. Also this whole sell off has been on light volume which is encouraging to me.

MiWebb asks

: What about Dayton Hudson?

Creme_Delacramer

: I sold half my position today into the strength because I wanted to raise some cash. that said I like this situation very much because Target is such a great store and my wife loves to shop there. This is a stock that is heavily endorsed by the Trading Goddess!

paramount2 asks

: Has GLM finally bottomed?

Creme_Delacramer

: I don't think you can say that with any conviction I am afraid. the oil service stocks have not formed a bottom of any consequence yet, but I think we would get one if Latin America and Asia started getting stronger.

blackvette1 asks

: Where do you see the cyclicals going?

Creme_Delacramer

: I think the cyclicals represent a lot of value but you will have to own them one by one because the only value that will be brought out will be brought out through takeovers. you see the market wont pay up for cyclical earnings but some of these companies are so darn cheap that we have to focus on them.

jitenc asks

: Do you believe that stocks have relinked to bonds re. yields rising above 5.5% being really awful for the bull?

Creme_Delacramer

: No, I think I disagree on this. Remember bond yields were unreasonably low all winter, versus a pretty strong economy and we have had some supply of bonds, but all we have done is go back to where they were in August. I am not concerned about the bonds being a problem here.

DayTripperYeah asks

: Jim...what bargains are you looking to pick up on dips?

Creme_Delacramer

: My bargain list is made up of a motley crew of appliance stocks, food stocks and beverage stocks. really boring sleep at night stuff.

Waves8 asks

: What movie is going to win Best Picture?

Creme_Delacramer

: I hope it is Saving Private Ryan

armani_ asks

: What is your year-en prediction for the DOW & NASDAQ?

Creme_Delacramer

: I think they will both be in a range of 10% up from here.

jtphoto27 asks

: Jim what do you think of CIEN?

Creme_Delacramer

: Why mess with CIEN when you can be in csco and lu, which I am long?

paramount2 asks

: Any chance for a NKE comeback ?

Creme_Delacramer

: I am not betting that way (although I am not short it either as I was for some time.)

ChilliePalmer asks

: How about Ebay? Is it too late?

Creme_Delacramer

: You know EBAY is one of those great quandaries for me. When I look at this situation I think this is the ultimate classified ad company and I love it and it is very well run. that said I only want two Net stocks during this correction, AOL and Yahoo and I am unwilling to get longer than that

roxxy2000 asks

: how old are you?

Creme_Delacramer

: I just turned 44

ericn196298 asks

: what is your short term outlook?

Creme_Delacramer

: Continued correction leading to a crescendo where everybody decides the world is over and then I will commit that cash.

angf36 asks

: Jim, any thoughts on intuit?

Creme_Delacramer

: Funny you should mention that. i was doing some work on these guys and I think that when we come out of the "thing" we are in, this could be a winner

MIGGY23 asks

: Please, an opinion on @Home? I heard you sold it a little while ago. True?

Creme_Delacramer

: Yes, I did. I think these guys have a great story but again, I have drastically trimmed my Net holdings because the griddle got too hot and I have not gotten back in yet.

tubbybuddy asks

: Jim- What are your thoughts on Network Appliance (NTAP)?

Creme_Delacramer

: I hear so many good things about them and I want to learn more before I make a judgment

tenbagger asks

: TSC is one of the most informative sites around. Why are there are so few really good ones out there?

Creme_Delacramer

: You know I really cant speak for the other guys; but editor in chief Dave Kansas has put together a powerful team and I thank you for the kudos.

jshanley asks

: If you like the banks are you seeing bonds going lower?

Creme_Delacramer

: Yes.

morganpo asks

: Is it time to start investing in Japan again?

Creme_Delacramer

: I have called so many false bottoms there I am afraid to do it again.

BillyMumphrey asks

: Better technician -- GBS or Meisler?

Creme_Delacramer

: Holy cow; I use them very differently and I learn from the both., I know, very diploimatic,. but also true. I read every word they write.

blackvette1 asks

: What's your short term on IOM

Creme_Delacramer

: Pass

superchick0 asks

: hey Jim is that your picture?

Creme_Delacramer

: Hey, Superchick, where were you 15 years ago when my picture mattered!! (LOL). Looks like that's about it. I want to thank my friends at Yahoo, particularly Lisa, and to recommend that everyone come to thestreet.com for more on dell and HBWP and everybody else tonight and tomorrow

Creme_Delacramer

: So long!
