) -- "Construction" is a hot search word today after a U.S. Department of Commerce report showed that construction spending rose in September.

U.S. construction spending increased 0.5% to an annual rate of $801.7 billion in September, beating economists' expectations of a 0.5% drop, according to

Spending on public projects was up 1.3% to $319.7 billion, the highest level since July 2009, after rising 2.2% in August. State and local government spending on construction projects rose 0.8% in September compared with the 2.3% increase in the month prior.

"Muscle cars" is a trending topic after the

General Motor's

Pontiac car brand officially ceased to exist on October 31.

The end of the brand occurred at midnight when GM's agreements with Pontiac dealers expired. The American car manufacturer is most known for its muscle cars, such as the Firebird Trans Am, GTO, and the Catalina 2+2.

After a significant drop off in popularity and sales, the car maker has shut down the line. The brand was 84 years old.
