If my column today doesn't have its usual wit and spice, well, it's because I don't have my usual wit and spice. Yep, we arrived in Utah for a Christmas skiing break on Friday, and I promptly retreated to bed for three solid days, racked by one of the nastiest bouts of the flu that I've ever encountered.

In the past, I've been out one or two days, but never three. And at this rate, I'll be lucky to cross a tip by New Year's.

And tomorrow? Some old tech -- assuming I'm not in the hospital by then!
