Where do you think the market is headed next week?

It took more than five months, but the

Dow Jones Industrial Average

is back in positive territory for 2009.

On Friday, the index finished up 28.34 points, or 0.3%, at 8799.26, while the

S&P 500

was up 1.32 points, or 0.1%, at 946.21. The

TheStreet Recommends


was off by 3.57, or 0.2%, at 1858.80.

Jan. 6 was the last day the Dow closed in positive territory in 2009. The Dow is now up 34.4% from the March 9 close, 6,547.05, which was its low point of the year.

All three indices were positive for the week: The Dow gained 0.4%, the S&P 500 added 0.7%, and the Nasdaq advanced 0.5%.
