NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Oil giant Exxon (XOM) - Get Report reported second-quarter earnings of $2.18 a share, below the Wall Street consensus target of $2.33 a share, but up from $1.60 a share a year ago.

Shares were falling 1.9% to $81.70 in premarket trading Thursday.

TriQuint Semiconductor

shares were falling 19.7% to $8.20 in early trading after the chipmaker gave weaker-than-expected forecasts for the third quarter. The company said it would earn 16 cents to 18 cents a share on revenue ranging from $225 million to $235 million. The average estimate of analysts polled by Thomson Reuters was for earnings of 25 cents a share in the quarter on revenue of $267.3 million.

Green Mountain Coffee Roasters

(GMCR)

reported a non-GAAP profit of $75.7 million, or 49 cents a share, for its fiscal third quarter ended June 25 as sales

rose more than 127% year over year to $717.2 million.

was for earnings of 36 cents a share in the June-ended period on revenue of $606.7 million.

Shares were surging 18.8% to $104.68.

DuPont

(DD) - Get Report

, the chemicals giant, said Thursday second-quarter earnings

topped analysts' estimates

and it raised its 2011 outlook.

DuPont earned $1.37 a share, excluding items, in the second quarter, up from year-earlier earnings of $1.17 a share. Analysts surveyed by Thomson Reuters expected the company, a component of the

Dow Jones Industrial Average

, to earn $1.34 a share.

Shares were rising 1.2% to $52.90.

Gold miner

reported second-quarter earnings of $1.12 a share versus the average analyst estimate of $1.09 a share as gold prices rose. However, the company said it has been experiencing inflationary input and labor costs at some of its operations.

Shares were down 0.7% to $48.20.

reported second-quarter earnings of $1.26 a share versus the average analyst estimate of $1.25 a share. Shares were down 0.5% to $85.03.

reported second-quarter profit of 9 cents a share versus the average Wall Street estimate of 8 cents a share. Shares were rising 0.5% to $13.20.

reported third-quarter earnings of 85 cents a share vs. the average analyst estimate of 72 cents a share.
