Klobuchar Drops Out: Did She Make a Deal with Biden?

Mish

Amy Klobuchar dropped out of the Democratic race and endorsed Joe Biden. Did she cut a deal?

I said all along Amy Klobuchar was campaigning for Vice President. Today I believe we have confirmation.

Please consider Sen. Amy Klobuchar drops out of Democratic race for president and plans to endorse Joe Biden, her campaign says

Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar ended her Democratic presidential campaign on Monday and plans to endorse rival Joe Biden in an effort to unify moderate voters behind the former vice president’s White House bid.

She is flying to Dallas and plans to join Biden at his rally Monday night, according to her campaign.

Klobuchar was the second presidential candidate to exit the race in less than 24 hours, following Pete Buttigieg’s departure late Sunday. Their decisions reflect an urgent push among moderates to consolidate behind Biden as a counter to progressive rival Bernie Sanders.

Expected Action

I expected Klobuchar to drop out and endorse Biden but only after winning Minnesota.

This was smart.

Klobuchar never attacked Biden in the debates and that was an indication to me that she was running for VP all along. Politically this was very smart as Biden is a one-term president if he even lasts that long.

A few hours ago I penned Fearless Forecast: What to Expect on Super Tuesday.

But this has the potential to dramatically affect Super Tuesday tomorrow.

For starters, I am flipping my Texas forecast from Sanders to Biden.

I will work out new totals shortly.

To answer my question: Did she cut a deal for VP with Biden? I say yes.

I predict Biden will get the nomination and then a lot of dirty laundry will come out about he and Hunter and it will be a repeat of 2016 with email servers and the Clinton Foundation. Instead of coming clean, Joe will argue against overwhelming evidence against him.

Meanwhile, Pocahontas, who finished behind both Buttigieg and Steyer, is not dropping out.

Is she doing the DNC a favor by splitting the commie vote to sabotage Bernie?

This is exactly what happened in 2016. The old guard demagogues really really dislike Bernie and so they'll get their way - again. It's so transparent, and sad. Expect to see the November choice between Biden and Trump. I'm guessing those back room agreements are already being inked. Clinton as a Supreme Court Justice anyone? Obama as Secretary of State? Sickening. The time for term limits for Congress has come and should be passed with a law that says if you've served in that capacity at the Federal level you cannot serve again, ever.

I wondered the other day about how old Reagan was when he was elected. He turned 70 in 1981, and he was 78 when his presidency ended in 1989.

Biden is 77, and Bernie is 78. Neither could end their first term alive.

Not to mention how many called Reagan senile back then...

Silicon Valley Leaders’ Plea to Democrats: Anyone but Sanders
Their tech employees are a different story.
March 2, 2020

SAN FRANCISCO — The Silicon Valley venture capitalist Keith Rabois, onstage in January at a tech conference, said his first choice for president was a Democrat, Pete Buttigieg.

And, sure, it would be a close call for Joseph R. Biden Jr. over President Trump. But Bernie Sanders?

At that, Mr. Rabois, who has been a top executive at or invested in LinkedIn, Square, Yelp and PayPal, balked. Speaking to the crowd, he drew the line at democratic socialism. (Mr. Buttigieg ended his campaign on Sunday night.)

“I would certainly vote for Trump over Sanders,” Mr. Rabois declared.

"Did she cut a deal for VP with Biden? I say yes."

...

Hhmm, dropped out of the race Monday morning (actually saw her ad on tv this morning) ... goes to Biden rally very same day in Dallas .... far away from home state or DC?

VP (most likely) ... or very senior cabinet position.

Klobuchar is part of the DNC establishment.

In 2016, Minnesota voters chose Bernie. The super-delegates (which Klobuchar is one) went against the voters wishes and chose Hillary.

This move does NOT shock any Minnesotans

"IF" Biden hasn't made any VP deals as of yet - wouldn't Warren be the best deal to make? She stays in and takes far left votes from Bernie...and then gets the VP spot. Biden serves 1 term and then she is the heir apparent.
