First of Many Cancellations: PGA Strips Trump of the 2022 PGA

Mish

Golfweek reports the 2022 Trump Bedminster PGA Championship will be cancelled.

First of Many

In the first of many cancellations to come PGA will strip Trump Bedminster of 2022 PGA Championship.

The PGA of America will strip Donald Trump of the 2022 PGA Championship, which is scheduled to be held at Trump National Bedminster golf club in New Jersey.

In a blistering column that says the golf world must sever all ties with Trump, Golfweek’s Eamon Lynch said the PGA has been debating for two years the need to move the major championship and, once Trump is out of office, will announce the tournament will be played elsewhere.

Golfweek Column Excerpts

When historians eventually tally the cost of the Donald Trump era, the manifold indecencies of which culminated in Wednesday’s sacking of the United States Capitol during a failed insurrection, golf will not be counted among its casualties.

The game will instead be portrayed as Trump’s refuge, something he did while ignoring a pandemic that has claimed 365,000 lives, refusing to acknowledge a resounding electoral defeat, and inciting feeble-minded fascists to violence that left five people dead at the opposite end of Pennsylvania Avenue.

That’s the best case scenario.

Whatever the future holds for Donald Trump after the noon hour on January 20, the events of January 6 that left five people dead ought to make him a pariah everywhere. Including in golf. This game should not be the familiar bosom to which he can safely retreat while fending off indictments. He is finally and deservedly being expelled from civic life. He needs to be driven from golf, too.

Are You Willing to Die For Trump?

Flashback December 8, 2020. I asked Are You Willing to Die For Trump?

Here is The Sorry Saga of Ashli Babbitt Shot in the Capitol

Ashli Babbitt was shot and killed in the capitol building riots. Trump supporters are appalled.  Why should they be?

1776 All Over Again

  • “Nothing will stop us....they can try and try and try but the storm is here and it is descending upon DC in less than 24 hours....dark to light!” Babbitt tweeted the day before she died.
  • In another tweet, she called for Vice President Pence to resign and to be prosecuted for treason, presumably for not being supportive enough of Trump’s calls to overturn the election.
  • In the days before the shooting, Babbitt retweeted a number of messages from demonstrators headed to D.C. for the protests on Wednesday. One read: “It will be 1776 all over again.... only bigger and better.”

The above from Chaotic Moments in the Capitol.

If Babbitt was Antifa, Trump cultists would be cheering her death.

Question of the Day: Do we or don't we use force against domestic terrorists breaking into the Capitol?

Placing the Blame

  1. Start with the perpetrators who broke into the capitol. Of course, that includes Ashli Babbitt.
  2. Second, blame Trump for promising a "wild" January 6.
  3. Third, blame people like Rudy Giuliani and others who encouraged others to break the law then stood like goons on the sidelines letting others do their dirty work.

Regarding the "others" in point three, we can safely add @Ali, #StopTheSteal, and @AZGop to the list of those encouraging a fight.

Be There, Be Wild

Big protest in D.C. on January 6th. Be there, will be wild!” That was one of several Trump Tweets on December 19 promoting the day.

Yes, Mr. President, it was "wild". Are you happy?

Shunned Like a Pariah

Trump is now shunned like the pariah he is.

This announcement by Golfweek is as welcome as it was predictable.

Trump is Now Toxic

Recall my comment on January 8: Trump is Now Toxic.

Trump's legacy is sealed. He will be viewed as the anarchist holding the match.

All that's left for Trump is a pile of lawsuits, some of which might put him in prison.

Diehard Cultists

On Twitter, someone replied that my comments "will not age well."

Such is the belief of diehard cultists who believe they are still standing on the deck of the "Good Ship Trump".

There is no ship left. It has sunk. The ship that once existed was mostly made of rotten, worm-infested wood. Praise its demise.

Just a prediction though it may be a bit of a salient point. Trump's DC hotel is toast. He got his traffic because it was well known he appreciated the gesture. He won't be President and lobbyists and politicians will likely consider staying there toxic

Thanks for these comments, Mish. I've been having panic attacks all day, and your confidence gives me comfort.

Given the rumblings fron RWNJ, there will need to be a massive police presence in DC and elsewhere.

"Shoot to kill" will be on the menu if there is a repeat of last week.

Golly Mish. You are not the only one borrowing my lines. Even golf magazine is using "feeble-minded" to describe the Trump cult members. Though, I guess it is a pretty obvious choice of words.

Trump and his spawn will all soon be pariahs.

I'm expecting yet another Trump bankruptcy.

Time for Trump to hold some rallies and get his cult members to pony up for their Messiah.

The account is there. Curiously, it contains nothing. As if she has no mind of her own.

All the stuff attributed to her is not correct. But it is there. She Re-Tweeted it, not said herself.

This issue came up in a Tweet I made a bit ago. Let's see if it posts.

From USA Today:

“ At least 25 troops are under investigation for terrorism related to Wednesday's siege at the Capitol, according to a Defense official and a member of Congress.”

I’m guessing a remake of Caddyshack with Trump in the Ted Knight role and Ivanka as Lacy Underalls is not gonna happen now.

"Question of the Day: Do we or don't we use force against domestic terrorists breaking into the Capitol?"

Odd question, like the building is worth something. Who is we, and why look for wider support for your decision ? It's lethal force in this case also, i.e. is it o.k. to kill an unarmed person for breaking into a public building . I guess the US ran short of people to call terrorist, and found out it was itself ?

Also, just read that 57 members of congress have contracted the virus so far. 45 Republicans and 12 Democrats. Funny how that works.

We have to remember this mob stormed the Capitol at the exact time that the electoral college votes were being counted to confirm a new president. Their goal was to stop the so called steal. And still those spineless Republicans stand behind Trump - see no evil, hear no evil. Shameful, shameful, shameful. They all have blood on their hands with the exception of a few, most notably Romney.

Interview with new Rep Peter Meijer (R-Michigan)--first week in DC..

...It's very clear that that how the president acted towards this whole scenario, his actions leading up to yesterday and especially his unwillingness to come to grips with the reality, is continuing to perpetuate this fraud, this deception that is rankly unfit."...

...The first week has been one to remember. We live in interesting times. Definitely didn't expect to be donning a smoke-inhalation hood and having to get down under some chairs because there were concerns that they might start shooting into the House chambers, getting evacuated from the House chambers and running around corridors to try to find a secure location, not knowing what was going on, who was where, and what was happening. So obviously it was chaotic on that front, and then just the fact that finding pipe bombs all over the place—I think there were several of those at the DNC, RNC, I think one on the Capitol grounds. Dudes breaking in with zip ties—you bring zip ties to take hostages, right?

I spent three years in between Iraq in the military and in Afghanistan, where my job was to basically be paranoid about all the ways that humanitarian aid workers could die, and try to protect them from those worst-case scenarios. So I tend to have a pretty dark imagination in terms of the possibilities that could occur. But that's not how I wanted my first week to be as a member of the House of Representatives....

....By and large, we saw some order. But this is manifestly clear: There was an utter breakdown in security and protocols. And we did get to some places throughout the day where all of a sudden a group of 30 or 40 lawmakers, and we'd look around and realize that there were no Capitol Police. There was no nobody, no law enforcement folks with us. OK, this isn't good.

So I think by and large folks kept their calm, but in that moment you don't know what may happen. And then, frankly, it obviously had a tragic ending. Besides just the assault on our democracy and then four people dying, dozens of law enforcement personnel injured, several still in the hospital in serious condition, it could have been a lot worse. And that was, I think, the outcome that we were fearing....

...Well, in terms of the people who stormed the Capitol, I think coup gives a sense of strategy and intelligence and forethought that none of the people involved deserve. Insurrection in terms of trying to disrupt the functioning of the government, sedition in terms of acting in a way to try to violently overthrow: Those terms fit. When it comes to the president's behavior, again, he certainly bears a share of the responsibility for what happened.

When riding the tiger becomes dangerous...

From the Meijer interview...

And then one of the saddest things is I had colleagues who, when it came time to recognize reality and vote to certify Arizona and Pennsylvania in the Electoral College, they knew in their heart of hearts that they should've voted to certify, but some had legitimate concerns about the safety of their families. They felt that that vote would put their families in danger.

Really? You heard that?

Yeah.

It appears the event planning company used for the rally at the senate last week has ties to Paul Manafort. The central figure in the story committed suicide.

The insurrection was MUCH uglier than it looked. We are learning more about:

-Plans for grabbing Electoral College votes
-Participants with Police/Military background
-Taliban style videotape confessions / executions of Congress members

Not a bloodless Coup - its treason

It's only a matter of time before this man is in bankruptcy court. He ruined his brand catering to white trash like we saw raid the Capitol as they killed a cop with their cell phone cameras on while literally smearing crap in the halls of Congress.

The funny thing is these people can't afford to keep his brands profitable. They aren't even the Holiday Inn Express types.
